🇨🇳🇺🇸 The pleasantries from Xi Jinping in the Great Hall of the People on Thursday were polite enough; the praise from Donald Trump for his Chinese host was even more lavish than usual.
But don’t be fooled. Behind Xi's seemingly bland and inoffensive opening remarks were a veiled threat.

🚨JUST IN: Over 50 Feared Dead as Military Airstrike Hits Border Market in Borno–Yobe
A devastating incident has been reported along the border of Borno State and Yobe State, where a military airstrike reportedly hit a local market, leaving over 50 people feared dead.
According to emerging reports, the strike occurred during an operation targeting insurgents in the North-East, but civilians were caught in the blast, resulting in heavy casualties.
Recent credible reports indicate that the incident took place in a border community market, where residents had gathered during active hours when the strike happened. Casualty figures are still being verified, but early estimates suggest dozens killed, with many others injured.
A similar report indicates that civilian casualties from such air operations can be significantly higher than initial figures, with some accounts in related incidents suggesting that the death toll may rise as rescue efforts continue.
The tragedy has once again raised serious concerns about targeting accuracy, civilian safety, and rules of engagement in Nigeria’s counter-insurgency operations.
Authorities are yet to release a full official statement, while calls for investigation and accountability continue to grow.

The Tiger Base police unit Owerri Imo state is notorious for deaths in custody.
1. Our investigation reveals that in 2022, three youth leaders handed over a suspect to the Tiger Base unit. About three months later, the suspect, a young man, Okechukwu Ogbedagu, died in detention. Amnesty International reviewed an autopsy report which revealed that the deceased victim suffered severe injuries to the neck, including broken neck bones, bleeding around the neck, and damage consistent with strong pressure applied to the neck. These injuries indicate that the neck was forcibly compressed and violently bent or twisted. Such actions would have blocked breathing and blood flow to the brain, leading to suffocation.
This demonstrates that the deceased may have been subjected to torture and ill-treatment. To cover up this atrocity, Tiger Base officials charged with murder the three youth leaders who reported the deceased. They were eventually released on bail after spending six months in deplorable conditions in Tiger Base detention cells.
2. Another concerning incident is the case of Japhet Njoku, a security guard accused of theft, who died in Tiger Base detention on 6 May 2025. To conceal their actions, Tiger Base officials told his family—after repeated demands for answers—that he was beaten to death in the cell by other inmates.
However, an autopsy report reviewed by Amnesty International revealed that he died from severe pneumonia, which impaired his breathing and significantly reduced oxygen levels. He had been held for several months in a Tiger Base cell under harsh, cold, and unsanitary conditions, without proper medical care, conditions that likely contributed to his death. Before the coroner‑ordered autopsy to determine the cause of death could be conducted, Tiger Base officials repeatedly obstructed the process.

WEEKEND MUSING
DEAD, ALIVE, OR DECEITFULLY IMMORTAL?
THE COLLAPSE OF A HORRO EMPIRE AND THE NEVER-ENDING TRAGEDY OF GENTLE DE YAHOO AND HIS MERCHANTS OF DEATH
What still hangs heavily on the lips of every concerned Nwafo Igbo is the endless wait for confirmation that the leader of these monsters; the merchants of death who have desecrated Ala-Igbo is truly no more.
Yet, even if the final confirmation eventually comes in the affirmative, not many will openly celebrate this unprecedented relief. Why? Because fear still reigns supreme. The fear is real, the silence is palpable, and the sword of terror continues to dangle menacingly over our land.
In my successive interventions, I have consistently dissected these fears and their devastating consequences. Today, I urge our people to draw courage from the immortal words of Senator Dino Melaye (SDM), words he boldly re-echoed at the just-concluded Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association in Enugu:
“If you speak the truth, you will die; if you lie, you will still die.”
Senator Dino chose the former, to speak the truth and damn the consequences. That choice is the courage that Ala-Igbo desperately needs today.
When weighed against our present reality, one truth becomes evident: fear has become the silent anthem of the average Igbo man/Biafran; whether at home or in the diaspora. This silence is not born of ignorance, but of dread. Fear of the unknown. Fear of reprisals. Fear of betrayal. Even those in political circles dare not utter a word, for many are complicit; by association, by connivance, or by their silent romance with the evil forces tearing our homeland apart.
A glance back at my earlier writings reveals a disturbing pattern: the bloody activities of the Simon Ekpa-led killer gang appear to have been procured, wittingly or unwittingly, by political contrivance. Their mission has been clear; to malign, demonize, and smear the noble image of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) before the world.
Otherwise, how do we explain the curious phenomenon that whenever any of Simon Ekpa’s foot soldiers is apprehended, his default confession is: “I am a member of IPOB, fighting for the liberations of Biafrans.
Immediately, IPOB’s leadership would issue statement after statement, dissociating the movement from these blood merchants. Yet the killings persist. Worse still, their Finland-based leader shamelessly mounts his digital pulpit, openly claiming responsibility for the atrocities; sometimes labeling his killers as members of the so-called BLA, yet always leaving enough confusion for enemies of truth to smear IPOB’s name.
The result? A poisonous narrative has taken root. At the slightest incident in the East; without evidence, without investigation, blame is instantly heaped on IPOB. This is not only dishonest; it is dangerous.
From the very beginning, I have called these outlaws by their true name: criminals, not agitators; killers, not freedom fighters. I have consistently exposed Simon Ekpa’s killer squad as nothing more than tools of destruction masquerading as liberators.
Even today, while an appeal against the proscription of IPOB is still pending before the Supreme Court, the name-calling persists, weaponized for political convenience. But let no one be deceived: security agencies operating in Imo State and its environs know the truth. They know those recruiting vulnerable youths, destroying communities, and turning Imo into a blood-soaked theatre are not Biafra agitators. They are criminal gangs, plain and simple.
Let it also be said: invoking the holy name of Chukwu Okike Abiama does not make one a freedom fighter. That divine name has existed from eternity. Yet today, the treacherous, the fraudulent, and the bloodthirsty invoke it in vain, seeking legitimacy for their crimes. They forget that the Scriptures are unambiguous about the consequences of taking the name of the Creator in vain. Many of them already stand as living testimonies of the dire outcome of such sacrilege.
This is why the cheering reports of ongoing security onslaughts in Imo State, the headquarters of the desecrators of Ala-Igbo, must be welcomed and sustained. This is not merely a campaign against criminals; it is a war for the survival of our homeland.
I urge security agencies: remain resolute, remain focused. Distinguish the peaceful global movement of IPOB from the identities of these criminals and merchants of death. History will record the difference.
Until the most gracious news of recent times finally resounds across our land, I shall continue to celebrate in advance, for truth, no matter how delayed, will always triumph over falsehood.

WHEN A SLIP IS CORRECTED, IT REVEALS THE TRUE HEIGHT OF PROFESSIONALISM
In the normal course of human affairs, no profession is immune from the occasional error, for to err is human. However, the narrative changes entirely when an omission or slip bears traces of deliberateness, whether by conduct, intent, or association.
A few days ago, a handful of unscrupulous, morally bankrupt, God-forsaken and accursed individuals , well-known to us, willfully misled certain sections of the press into publishing unverified and patently defamatory material against a foremost, globally recognized senior lawyer of towering reputation: Prof. Mike Ozekhome, SAN, OFR, CON, and his distinguished legal team, of which I am proudly a part.
Our investigations revealed that the offending publication was the handiwork of an infamous “sete kwuem” content creator, acting under the direct instructions of a shadow operator working hand-in-glove with equally iniquitous and accursed siblings. These architects of falsehood crafted and supplied the malicious content to the press, who, in this instance, failed in their duty of due diligence, mistakenly relying on the presumed integrity of their sources.
Though these cowards laboured to cover their tracks, I pursued the trail until the identities of these habitual fraudsters and agent provocateurs were exposed. Predictably, they were the very same serial mischief-makers who first circulated and trended the fake news. Behind them lurk even more dangerous adversaries of Ndi Igbo, shadowy figures whose hidden faces are becoming increasingly visible to our people.
Yet, in this dark episode lies our major victory: the press has now learned a vital lesson. They have recognised that many articles placed before them, often written by unseen hands and signed off under fictitious or even misappropriated names, require rigorous verification. Indeed, even pieces attributed to known personalities must be cross-checked, for the apparent author may not be the true pen behind the words.
Today, professionalism has triumphed. The press, demonstrating commendable integrity, has fully retracted the offending publication and issued a public apology to my esteemed mentor; the legal iroko of our time, the Akpakpa Vighi Vighi of Edo land, the living compendium of constitutional law, the cerebral Senior Silk, the pocket dictionary of our generation and beyond, the erudite professor: Prof. Mike Ozekhome, SAN, OFR, CON.
I wholeheartedly commend the press for this courageous corrective action, and I urge them to continue to uphold the highest standards of circumspection, integrity, and professionalism as the noble Fourth Estate of the Realm.
We move!

Do you understand why most times I call out some Nigerians and Biafrans living in the USA contribute to Nigeria's insecurities, drug peddling and most of the illegalities going on in Nigeria .
Picture them supporting and calling for a presidential pardon someone responsible for the deaths of numerous innocent Igbo youths and extrajudicial killings of Nigerian youths , this man is sought by the USA government with links to Hushpuppi that leads to his extradition request by USA, a drug dealer for that matter , and yet members of cartle in USA are the same individuals advocating for his presidential pardon.
What a country !

France has officially handed over its last military bases in Senegal, marking the end of a 65-year presence. Camp Geille, the largest French base in the country, and an airfield at Dakar airport were returned during a ceremony attended by French and Senegalese officials. The withdrawal, which began in March, reflects a broader trend of former African colonies distancing themselves from France. About 350 French troops, previously involved in joint operations with the Senegalese army, will complete their exit within three months.
