We’ve all finally picked a platform: Bluesky is like twitter without paying a transphobe to be transphobic while he also platforms other transphobes. https://t.co/nXG64YUd7i
Welp. A vocal transphobe and general idiot/manchild owns this platform. Goodbye forever I guess. I’ll keep my account long enough to see where people are follow are going. https://t.co/UWGJigF4cE
@NaomiRhem @boymeetsworm @AlisonAgosti Partner was supposed to be a gender-neutral term for one’s romantic partner; boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife etc. are all gendered terms.
As far as I know, the intent was always that everyone would use it. Gay or straight, trans or cis, everyone could use partner.
@NaomiRhem @boymeetsworm @AlisonAgosti ???
Using the perm partner had nothing to do with the legality of marriage. Those who wanted to use the terms husband or wife did so, regardless of whether their marriage was legal. Those who wanted to use the term partner did so, regardless of whether they were married.
@bjdbets@SamsterSmithy@NPR Ah, so I can’t force someone to correctly gender their students, but I can make it impermissible to misgender students. Do I have that right?
@bjdbets@SamsterSmithy@NPR Wouldn’t they be trying to COMPEL any teacher who wanted to use the N word or other slurs towards their students? Wouldn’t that also be forcing them to speak a certain way? If you say they can’t do that, explain why not or how it’s different.
Morikichi, a naughty and curious Shiba Inu dog with a very long radish wrapped around his neck, is the mascot of Moriguchi City, Japan. He carries a pouch made by his mother, and it is full of pickles.
@8bitdylan It feels like we were five feet away from the finish line of a grueling marathon, and instead of crossing we are mulling around hoping that the finish line comes to us. Just like we did last time.
@Genshinmem I am running around finishing poems and paintings and all I can think about is how the traveler got stuck here and just wants to find his sister and go home. Just clicking through so much dialog like “I’m not even supposed to be here today.”
