A new study published today provides the strongest evidence to date that not only is nature conservation successful, but that further investment would be transformational for halting and reversing biodiversity loss 🌍
Dr @JEBicknell, Senior Lecturer in Biodiversity Conservation is one of four lead authors on this groundbreaking conservation research which demonstrates that conservation actions are effective at reducing the effects of climate change.
The findings of this first-ever comprehensive global study of the impact of conservation interventions, work led by @rewild (co-founded by @LeoDiCaprio), along with @IUCN and @UniofOxford conclude that the challenge now is to expand conservation interventions to the transformational scale necessary to reverse the global biodiversity crisis to the benefit of all life on Earth, while reducing threats to biodiversity, such as unsustainable consumption and production.
