@NateTreme has been a huge Inspiration as a creator the last few years since I discovered his games. He seems to always be creating, and has an amazing output. I am excited to read these and continue to be inspired. #ttrpg#roleplaying#RPG#gamedesign#indiegames
I find that I logic myself out of good #ttrpg#design ideas before I actually get it to paper. I am learning to tell myself to keep going. Now, I just have to finish the design for a game about an aging rockstar who faked their death!
Years ago whenever I talked about #ttrpg#gamedesign the conversation usually began and ended with “is it balanced, and is it fair?” Now, I notice, at least in the indie scene, that does t matter as much. And I love that!
@olde_fortran There is also some@new research that expands mindsets into the Mindset GPS which is growth, purpose, and social belonging. So, can I? Do I want to? And how does it impact who I am?
@olde_fortran I work at a college, and have been driving a lot of change about Growth Mindset. One of the first things to do is to audit your vocabulary, instead of “Can I?” Ask “How Can I” it immediately puts you in a situation to work hard to do the thing.
@JFrenchAuthor If you like a more old school feel there is also astonishing swordsmen and sorcerers of hyperborea, again with a more swords and sorcery style setting.
@JFrenchAuthor Depending on the kind of fantasy you are going for there is Swords without Master, which is a more narrative Swords and Sorcery low fantasy game. There is also Dungeon World which uses the pbta engine.
I really don’t like skill tree (ability tree) mechanics in a #ttrpg. If I have a choice I would probably just not play a game like that. For me this kind of mechanic is unnecisary and makes me have to keep up with way too much in order to play a game.
Went to a small estate date today with the soul purpose of buying this! I have been wanting one of these since my aunt had one back in the 80s! Can’t wait to start playing with it. #instrument#vintagemusicequipment#electronicmusic#omnichord #
