Hey friends, I’m switching over to Bluesky! Feel free to follow me @izzetskill.bsky.social if you would like to keep in touch! I’m planning on posting/engaging with much more Cube content over there as it more aligns with my MTG goals for 2025! 🧊
Drafted a wide open UB seat after P1P1 Kaito over a Hexgold Slash, enough said! I got passed hella rares and even got an Archfiend of the Dross to boot! Efficient Interaction and Toxic creatures coalesced into a grindy and inevitable win condition, 10/10 would draft again!😁☠️💧
I went 3-0 🏆 the past two weeks at @TheManaVaultMKE for MB2 and ONE draft! I took a few months off MTG for my wedding, but I’m back and running hot 🔥 Can I be stopped for tonight’s x3 OG Innistrad event 🤔 Currently listening to Limited Recourses episodes from 2011 😈
P1P1 Abrade into Dragon’s Rage Channeler put me in the red seat! Picked up some solid goblins along the way, and happily came across a Muxus into a Goblin Recruiter! I never did the thing, but T2 Burning Tree Emissary into Lightning Mauler was the nuts 🥜🔥felt like 2013 again!
To cement my point, here is my other 3-0 list from the Bar-B-Cube that shares alot of the exact same or similar cards. Also worth noting that while drafting, I prioritize all of the “busted modern design” cards regardless of my deck strategy and just slot them in indiscriminately
Did a 6 person Team Draft of @GLHF_Games ‘s Mono Red Cube yesterday at Sylvia’s Wednesday Night weekly Cube event! The vibes were immaculate and the competition was fierce as we gathered our last batch of notes before the cube is featured at @CubeConOfficial !
Went 3-0 with “Big Red” to secure the win for our team! I think Big Red is the best deck in the Cube, with combo decks as a close 2nd. The combination of early sweepers, Lifegain effects, and splashy top end creatures all add up to make a well positioned strategy against aggro
🚨 Today is the LAST DAY that you can pre-register for CubeCon* 🚨
If you have not yet purchased your badge and ticket, you need to do so by tonight at midnight central time.
Had a grand old time doing some testing for @GLHF_Games’s Old Border Foil Cube before CubeCon! Thanks for hosting a great event Jeff! ❤️ I wish I could have given more feedback but was too busy punting my drafts/games lmfao.
Drafted U/B control off of a P1P1 Opposition that I failed to support effectively. Deck was still solid and had lots of interaction, as well as a Psychatog/Waterfront Bouncer recursion package with Phyrexian Reclamation/Delver. Went 1-2 again and even flipped 5 lands with FOF🤦♂️
Ended up in Mono Red off of P1P1 Goblin Bombardment for pod 1. Went 1-2 due to strong opponents, some misplays, and unfavorable matchups. I still enjoyed getting reps in with a less familiar card pool, as well as looking at the shiny cardboard 😍🔥✨
@BearlyLupe @_Mikujin Probably taking Verdant Catacombs if im trying to spike. Taking Pia Naalar for fun cause I heard yall are trying to support the “play from exile matters” theme! Honorable mentions to the viper, emp of bones, and the Gruul Partners ❤️🔥
All 10 companions were fun and felt supported! Cards like Umori, Gyruda, and Keruga all benefit from the high density of adventure creatures that easily satisfy their deck constraints. Kaheera was the least supported but there are lots of dinosaurs and cats to add!!! 🦖🐈❤️
🏆 3-0d 🏆 the MKE2023 Cube this past Sunday at @themanavaultmke with Naya Rectangle Aggro! This deck had tons of synergy and a solid gameplan. More importantly, we got a ton of great notes and will continue to tune the environment to create even better play experiences! ❤️🔥
Notes: More removal and a couple sweepers are needed, board states became large and many permanents demanded answers. We keep adding creatures that fill out gaps in each color’s mana curve and tend to create game objects that support synergy pockets. Pre draft cuts and adds ⬇️
