If you have a kid in high school who isn’t thinking about their future already, let them know all the kids at @AlphaschoolATX are running laps around them.
At alpha today we took our placement SAT, except we don’t just take these and move on. We get learning plans specifically curated for us based off how we did.
All our learning platforms use AI to observe how we do and fix what we don’t know.
We learn with a purpose
While every other freshman in the country won't take the SAT till junior year...
I have 7 weeks to improve my SAT score by 200 points.
@alphaschool started out the school year by having us
- Set a customized plan to majorly improve our SAT scores as freshmen
- Build a tool for a non profit of our choice that helps them in their day to day lives
- Train our own GPT that helps us structure ambitious goals
Lets hope I survive the school year
@BrianFeroldi Underrated detail: Staples and Health are both the only sectors with positive late cycle and recession. Everything else picks a lane while these two just quietly outperform when things get ugly.
@Ritholtz Read your article and I agree all around, giving a deeper description of the article along with a hook to grab someones attention would help a lot with this post. Your work deserves recognition.
Every person at my school uses AI around 4 hours a day minimum, and it's encouraged.
At @AlphaschoolATX today for our second week of school we're focusing on how we can set attainable and challenging goals with AI. We all made our own GPT's that focus on goal setting which we made happen by feeding our AI resources about goal setting for it to learn.
We have business plans called "Alpha X" projects that we work on scaling through our whole highschool career.
The goals we set for the next three weeks were to help us be ready when we fully dive into our projects, at the end of the first 6 weeks.
Instead of wasting time on long lectures like other schools, we proactively get ahead of the crowd by developing expertise in our passions. While others are focusing on how they're gonna be the highest ranked in their class off a GPA, nobody will see in the real world, we learn what really gets you ahead.
E2E encryption protects messages in transit or storage from being intercepted by anyone else it doesn't stop your own phone from following instructions from the app. Delete for Everyone just sends a delete this signal to everyone's device, and each phone deletes its local copy. Nothing gets unencrypted or reached into it's more like a recall request than an erasure.
@JakeFleshner This was a great post, it took a minute to understand it tho wording it more clear would help tremendously you deserve recognition for this.
Every person at my school today made their own AI to help them with goal setting. Has your school done this?
Today at @AlphaschoolATX we talked about goal setting, which can be a hard topic. We set up plans for all of us to make our own GPT's so we could generate goals we can ask this AI we built if they're reasonable.
School can be boring but when you're learning skills you know you'll use in the real world, its not that bad.
@the_psyche_lab This is incredibly valid but understanding its not a competition and every person carries a different mental load will help you tremendously is life.
Have you ever wanted to go to a school where grades are easy to maintain and you learn stuff you're gonna use in the real world?
I know I have.
I go to @AlphaschoolATX and here we solve every issue in the education system. Today we worked on how to give feedback by seeing how movies use feedback and even finding things online with our own interests we could help give feedback on.
In the future we are going on a survival simulation to see how we can work with low resources, were even getting our parents to say feedback while we have lie detector tests on to see if we can calm ourselves down. These all are to develop skills we need in the real world, if you want to see how the rest goes follow.
