For NHS Day recently I went to the Manchester Royal Infirmary to find out people’s experiences with the NHS, have they experienced long waiting times and whether they feel the NHS is in a good place under this current government.

Was a pleasure to speak to the team at Hillbrae Animal Rescue. It was set up by a lady called Marty in the 70s who now runs the rescue with her husband. Since then she says they’ve had around 30,000 dogs through the kennels:

Last Thursday residents across 200 properties were evacuated after police declared a major incident in the Vulcan Street of Derby. On Friday night people were told night they were allowed back into their homes, but Derbyshire police say they will still be present in the area.

Reports of animals being abandoned have sky-rocketed in Cheshire in 2025, according to the RSPCA.
Local incidents raised with the charity are up by 10% in the first 10 months of the year.
They fear the situation will only get worse over winter.
