“Meanwhile in Mississippi, enslaved workers kept working. Soon, Douglas would work a third of them to death.” How could someone do this to another person? Actually, hundreds of people. #AuburnWorldHistory
It makes me so sad to think that some people were born, grew up, and died all on a slave plantation. So many people never knew life outside of slavery. They never got to leave or experience freedom. #AuburnWorldHistory
@littleeagle742 The way these people were treated is heartbreaking to watch. I was not expecting it to show just how horribly they lived though. I think the scenes are quite graphic but necessary in order to to show how brutal their lives were.
“After the government turned it into a life or death situation, it doesn’t matter who you are or what you are doing. Everyone knows that if you’re here, you’re willing to die.” That was a hard and sad sentence to hear. #AuburnWorldHistory
Some of the images shown are very hard to look at. They are sad, inhumane, and devastating. I hate that people are forced to live in that way. #AuburnWorldHistory
“Softspoken in person, Freedia has an onstage voice as deep and exhortatory as Chuck D’s.” I find it fascinating that performers can just change the way they sound to fit other people’s interests. #AuburnWorldHistory
This article was very descriptive, which I liked because it helped paint a picture in my head and get a better understanding of what Jonathan Dee was describing. #AuburnWorldHistory
@AshtonC345 I had the same thought. The article says that ‘neoliberalism is a widely used term today,’ yet this is the first time I, personally, have heard it used.
Why do you think the crises started in the 1970’s? David Harvey states that, “the whole system has been a series of crises ever since.” Why do you think that is? Any thoughts on how to lessen the number of future crises? #AuburnWorldHistory
@AshtonC345 I liked that the film included this. This is such a scary and dangerous topic, I think it’s important to incorporate something to ease the intensity of the film.
After watching this movie, I have to say that communication is one of, if not the most important part of war. Not being in contact with aircraft or the soldiers below is so dangerous. #AuburnWorldHistory
