On Wednesday, July 9, 2025,

in Abasan Al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip,

Al-Qassam Brigades targeted an Israeli army Merkava tank, an APC, and two military excavators with Yasin 105 shells, and then engaged Israeli soldiers with light weapons.

During the operation, Israeli army Sgt. Maj. Abraham Azulay was busy operating an excavator while demolishing family homes.

Al-Qassam Brigades fighter Tareq Breim attempted to capture Azulay. When the battlefield situation did not permit the capture of Israeli soldier Abraham Azulay, Al-Qassam fighter Tareq killed him, seized his weapon, and then all the Palestinian fighters withdrew.
