@getsomesun11@hutchinson@Ogreboy6 She literally had mainstream centrist outlets calling her a communist for her anti-price gouging proposal.
She didn't run a '90s Third Way campaign lol.

A mí me encantó el hecho de que todos los pokes eran nuevos
Estaba hasta los cojones que en todos los juegos se repitan Pidgey, Magikarp o Weedle en las rutas
This is basically an argument that Susan Collins has electoral magic because she overperformed in 2008 and 2020. That is nostalgia, not analysis.
2008 was a different political universe. Collins was running before the Trump realignment, before Dobbs, before the Kavanaugh vote became central to her brand with Democrats, before years of pretending to be independent while enabling a Republican Party that Maine voters increasingly reject. You do not get to freeze a candidate’s reputation at its peak and pretend nothing has happened since.
And 2020 is not the proof of invincibility people think it is. Collins survived as an entrenched incumbent against a conventional Democrat in a presidential electorate where she still had residual crossover appeal. That does not mean she automatically survives six years later against a candidate running directly on anti-establishment economics, labor, veterans’ issues, health care, and the fact that Mainers are tired of Washington lifers laundering Republican power through a “moderate” brand.
The polling argument is especially weak. Right now Platner is leading. Not tied. Not “within striking distance.” Leading. If Republicans want to say polls can be wrong, fine; everyone knows that. But “polls missed before” is not a model. It is cope. You still have to explain why Collins’s overperformance from past cycles should be assumed again when the electorate, the national environment, and her own reputation have changed.
The scandals are not the race. Republicans badly want them to be the race because they would rather talk about personal drama than Collins’s actual record, the Trump agenda, health care, costs, labor, housing, corporate power, or whether Maine needs another six years of a senator who performs independence while helping Republicans keep control of the Senate.
“Susan Collins is Susan Collins” cuts both ways. She is no longer a fresh-faced Maine moderate. She is a decades-long incumbent asking voters for a sixth term in a state moving away from her party. The fact that Republicans are already leaning this hard on mythology instead of the current numbers tells you they know the race is real.
This is counter-productive, authoritarian and chilling. The British state should not be in the business of banning commentators and journalists from entering the country, without compelling reason. Finding their views objectionable is nowhere near enough.

Dudes will get paid an average salary at a job they hate, then get on Twitter and call Drake a Slave for a $400 million contract, but hey, that's social media.

The Nintendo hate is so forced tbh
There’s always been an unfair double standard against Nintendo and it’s usually because of a deeply rooted belief that Nintendo is just for children and therefore deemed as inferior compared to the other consoles
