Mike Rowe reveals Ford has 5,000 unfilled mechanic jobs paying $120,000 a year.
No degree required. AI-proof. And Ford still can't fill them.
ROWE: "Not a week goes by when I don’t get a call from some CEO... elected official... freaking out."
"They’ve done the math: for every five tradespeople who retire, two come in. It’s been that way for about 12 years now."
“Jim Farley (Ford CEO) told me he’s got 5,000 empty bays at Ford. These are AI-proof six-figure jobs, right? $120,000 a year. He can’t fill them.”
In a separation conversation with Shawn Ryan, Rowe said he visited a Texas data center and met three “debt-free” electricians under 30 making “north of $240,000/year.”
All three of those electricians have been “poached” three times in the last 18 months because the demand for electricians is crazy high.
THE BIG TAKEAWAY: If you're thinking about college but aren't sure what you really wanna do, trade school might be the smarter play.
Chances are, you'll take on a lot less debt, make a lot more money — and AI won't be coming for your job anytime soon.
Linoleic acid is the whole argument, so here is how much of it was in whatever you cooked with this morning, and why the lower number is always the better fat.
- Safflower oil: 75%
- Sunflower oil: 65%
- Corn oil: 54%
- Soybean oil: 51%
- Rapeseed oil: 19%
- Olive oil: 10%
- Lard: 10%
- Beef tallow: 3%
- Butter: 2%
Read that as a stability ranking, because that is what it is.
Fat breaks at the double bond. That is the only place it can break. A saturated fat has none, which is why butter and dripping will sit in a hot pan and do nothing interesting. Oleic acid, the bulk of olive oil, has one. Linoleic acid has two, and two is not simply twice as fragile, because oxidation is a chain reaction: one broken bond throws off a radical that goes and breaks the molecule next to it, which breaks the next, and it runs until something stops it.
In a pan, that is aldehydes. Heat, oxygen and time, and the more double bonds in the pan the more of them you make. Sunflower oil produces them in quantities well beyond international safety limits at ordinary shallow-frying temperatures. Butter, olive oil and lard produce a fraction of the same, because there is almost nothing in them to break.
Cold, it still happens, only slower. In the bottle on the shelf. In your cell membranes, which get built out of whichever fatty acids turned up. In the fat under your skin, where linoleic acid has a half-life of around 680 days and oxidises the entire time it is sitting there.
Fine, concede it, linoleic acid is essential. The requirement is somewhere around one to two per cent of calories, and genuine deficiency has effectively never been recorded in a free-living adult, because arranging it is almost impossible. Sunflower oil delivers sixty-five.
Vitamin A is essential too. Nobody has suggested a pint of it.
In the 1640's the Dutch inhabitants of New Amsterdam built a 12 foot wall to keep the
"bad people" out. In 1664 the British ignored the wall and took New Amsterdam by sea. It's now called New York. They took down the wall and built a street, which is now called Wall Street.
I had another unpleasant encounter with the Brighton antizionist doorknockers today. I asked AGAIN if they cared their campaign was linked to Hamas. One said “so what?” These are the ghouls coming to knock at Jewish ppl’s doors soon. TERRIFYING.
Cote Baptist Chapel in Oxfordshire was described in the county’s 1977 edition of The Buildings of England as resembling ‘good industrial buildings of c.1800’.

Police arrest 30 Brits every single day for online posts, yet 5,000 violent convicts, including killers of PC Andrew Harper, are being set free because "prisons are full."
We have empty cells for typing, but no space for cop killers.
Tell me this country hasn't lost its mind.
NHS trust tells trans staff they can use women’s toilets. It cost NHS Fife a fortune in tax payers money to be made to follow the law. Why aren’t heads of trusts being sacked for opening their trusts up to legal action, potentially costing the tax payer? https://t.co/jkOgzlLwqq
🚨Just spoken to a former Labour shadow cabinet minister who tells me Yvette Cooper’s donations represent a “clear and glaring conflict of interest”.
Just three weeks in, and already BIG questions for the Burnham government to answer.
The Cooper Files, published here tomorrow.
Ohhhh see, I can spot a scam a mile away.
The only way they can make this work is to charge the same price for a bricklayer or plumbing etc training course over 3 years … as a degree!
And stitch up the other half of kids into technical loans!
Don’t fall for this shit!
"So where do you get vitamin C?"
Beef.
"Beef has no vitamin C."
Fresh beef has a little. And vitamin C competes with glucose for the same transporter, so with the glucose gone I need a fraction of what you do.
"That sounds like something you've read on the internet."
It is. It's also six years without scurvy, which is a fairly loud result.
"Fibre."
Beef.
"Beef is the single least fibrous food that exists."
Yes. That's the feature.
"You need it to go to the toilet."
I have never once planned a day around a toilet. You've thought about yours twice in this conversation.
"Your gut bacteria will starve."
They eat what I give them.
"Which is?"
Beef.
"Potassium."
Beef.
"Magnesium, you'll cramp."
I'm four days a week under a barbell and I haven't cramped since 2019.
"Folate, then."
Beef.
"You can't just keep saying beef."
I'm not. You keep naming things that are in beef.
"Fine. Zinc."
Now that one's genuinely embarrassing for your side.
"Why?"
Beef.
"Do you ever get bored of it?"
Occasionally.
"There we go. Progress."
So I have bacon.
💔 ANOTHER PIECE OF BRITAIN'S CHURCH HERITAGE COULD SOON BE GONE!
The tower at St Joseph's Old Church in Preston is set to be demolished after years of deterioration left it unsafe.
The church says repairs were simply too expensive to carry out, leaving demolition as the only realistic option.
Once these historic features disappear, we don't get them back.
Should more be done to help preserve Britain's churches?
Christian Lebanon was a beautiful country until the Palestinians and Hezbollah came in and ruined it.
Wherever radical Islam spreads, it destroys civilization.
No new training.
No new accountable staff.
No proper assertive outreach.
No change in risk to patients or public.
Bringing services together ….where were they before….
Just shiny new building that was not needed costing and wasting millions…..this is how waste is done in the health service….
