1/ The Democracy Collaborative Workers’ Union is disappointed to share that we are currently in negotiations with management over discretionary layoffs impacting over one-third of our bargaining unit.
After some consideration, I need to admit that given everything going on I am not currently able to give this project the attention and diligence that it deserves. As such, please consider this project as currently on hiatus.
I still think our story deserves to be told and would be interested in being a part of a group that gets it done.
In hindsight, it was a little silly to think that I alone would be capable of putting in the labor required of this project. (then a pandemic happened)
Our union represents hundreds of workers at the Municipal Credit Union. Management hired union-busters @JacksonLewisPC to handle contract negotiations and are, unsurprisingly, trying to cut crucial benefits--even during a pandemic. Here's an update we gave to workers.
