@lukedsimmons No long haul church in the East Valley has kept our family longer than 9 years before God himself moved us to use our gifts in other places and get fed by fresh voices.
@lukedsimmons@Yroc2010 Is the point of the church to be sustainable long haul though?
I think of the people that find Jesus, get empowered by the Holy Spirit & spread it through their families & work & schools- not so the " start up" people can also building a " legacy" attached to worldly property
I genuinely think it’s wild that people are scared to give honey to a baby under 12 months but not scared to give 25 heavy metal shots to a baby under 12 months.
taking children away from families that can’t afford to care for them…..placing them in foster homes that receive aid from the city to care for them…..instead of giving the said aid to the struggling family!!
@acranberg How about the colleges and universities? They could use their multi-billion endowments as collateral and be forced to offer majors and degrees that actually lead to jobs so they can get paid back
Well the first real problem is that as parents we don’t have any kind of say or major push for our kids to be taught real finance, US taxes, and world economics in high school. They should have an entire semester on these topics. Then kids would actually understand the loans they are signing up for and the real consequences of selecting a degree path with poor monetary value.
Secondly, universities are a business that thrives on a 4 yr degree program model. And they pack the curriculum requirements for degrees with nonsense classes to ensure they reach that 4 yr time span and make maximum profit.
With today’s technologies, universities could cur out the fluff and streamline many degrees into 24-28 months. Ultimately saving students tens of thousands on loan debts.
The worst thing in life for those in government and those who's religion is worshipping government (Media, Academia) is
Solutions.
The more solutions, the less government is needed. Solutions are a threat to government. Good news is the biggest threat to the media academia cabal.
Quick thread of lost and forgotten words that we need to bring back:
“Overmorrow,” the day after tomorrow, and “yesterneve,” yesterday evening.
“Nodcrafty”: to nod along sagely when someone is talking, despite not having a clue what they’re banging on about.
