For over 80 years, the Pentagon held the title of the world's largest defense headquarters. We now have a new title holder. The OCTAGON.
Egypt has just unveiled the world's largest military Headquaters, called the Octagon. The massive 22,000 acre complex, built as the nerve center for Egypts armed forces, is larger than the U.S. Pentagon.

Learn to see people for who they truly are, not for the versions your heart hopes they could become.
Kindness is a virtue, not a contract.
In life, being kind does not exempt you from harsh realities, just like the lion will not spare you simply because you don't eat it.
Still, remain kind, but let wisdom walk beside your compassion.
Today at Nakasero, I met Mr. Aliko Dangote and we discussed the proposed East African regional refinery.
I informed him that from the very beginning, we have always opposed the export of raw materials without value addition. That is why Uganda delayed oil production because we insisted on first having a refinery. Without refining our oil, it would not make economic or strategic sense to simply export crude oil while others benefit from the finished products.
I, therefore, welcomed the idea of a bigger regional refinery because our objective is African integration and shared prosperity. We cannot continue operating as fragmented and weak markets. If East Africa works together, such projects become more viable and beneficial to our people.
Uganda is ready to support the regional refinery initiative while also continuing with the development of our own refinery in Hoima.
Comrade Andrew Mwenda has told me about a foundation called the Uganda Child Cancer Foundation that is fundraising to build a hostel. Part of the money raised will go to them.
We joined some of our partners from the OBC Annual Dinner, JESA, and American Tower Corporation (ATC) at the Uganda Cancer Institute in Mulago. Their visit reaffirms their commitment to the nutrition feeding program for children with cancer, promised during the OBC Annual Dinner 2025. For the next six months, JESA will provide milk to the Children's Cancer Ward, while ATC has donated soya flour, millet flour, rice flour, and sugar.

Today we've hold a session with the Kingdom Partners in the Kabaka Birthday Run which was intended to share profound impact and progress achieved in the fight against HIV/AIDS, in Uganda since 2020.
Key figures and statistics show progress and great strides have been made together with all of you who join us in this noble cause. However, as we celebrate these milestones l, we are also reminded that we still have a big role to ensure we banish HIV/AIDS out of Uganda by 2030.
The Kingdom of Buganda remains committed to social and economic transformation, and that calls for the health of the population.
Together, we can build stronger systems, transform more lives and ensure that we uplift the current generation for a better future.
Congratulations to Mr. Lino Anguzu (@AnguLyno)
Today marks an important moment for justice in the Republic of Uganda. For the first time since the 1995 Constitution came into force, a serving career prosecutor has risen from within the ranks to lead the Prosecution. It is a victory for merit, discipline, and quiet service.
Lino joins a long and noble line of eminent jurists who have held that high office, including the late Francis Ayume, Peter Kabatsi SC, Justice Richard Buteera, and Justice Mike Chibita, but he stands as the first since 1995 to be appointed from among the prosecutors themselves.
I have known him for many years as a fine lawyer, a wonderful man, and a decent public servant. He embodies the virtues that sustain the rule of law: humility, fairness, and an unyielding sense of duty.
As he takes up this solemn charge, may he keep faith with the Constitution, to act always in the public interest, in the interest of the administration of justice, and to prevent abuse of legal process under Article 120(5).
The weight of justice and the burden of fairness rest now upon shoulders strong enough to carry them. May he preserve the dignity and independence of his office, and may God grant him the strength for the climb ahead.
For as Nelson Mandela reminded us, “After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are still many more hills to climb.” So may each hill strengthen his resolve, deepen his wisdom, and lift ever higher the cause of justice in our Republic.
Congratulations, Lino.
Yesterday our Club was gratified to be invited to a home hospitality by PDG Ken Mugisha at his Residence.
It was such a great evening for the members filled with fun, games, networking, drinks and all.
