Today, I presented the 6 phases of the MI Safe Start Plan to re-engage our economy. This plan was created with the guidance of epidemiologists, business leaders, and labor leaders. As always, our top priority is the health and safety of Michiganders.

To try to prepare to go back to school with Covid with less funding, just not sure how that’s even possible. It would be a struggle with the current level of funding.
Mo was a dear friend. He was a proud Detroiter and continued the family commitment to the service of his community. There was not a more loyal friend, thoughtful advisor or quicker wit. My love and prayers go to his beloved family and many friends who grieve this tough loss.

We learned that we lost two DPSCD employees today from two separate schools. Three parents from three different schools. One of the hardest days yet. All to this awful virus. My heart is in pain for their families and our district and school families.
