@QuixoticQuant@LilyDAmbrosioMP It’s this piece of work from GHD https://t.co/ogpw7BD7cz it doesn’t even have proper AS3000 calculations to estimate actual home electricity usage when looking at single and three phase - ignoring the actual existing local DNSP having the capability to upgrade everyone…
@QuixoticQuant@RadioLukeGrant Great interview, well spoken… now need to start ripping apart these assumptions that all electric homes are cheaper - the cost is going to be significant, impact consumers and these fancy reports like this are clearly misleading https://t.co/4Zd3qSFp56
@DavidMcilvn @clairlemon@QuixoticQuant@Bowenchris@CSIRO You realise that even the CSIRO in their OWN report state they assume it’s sunk cost & then again in a follow up op ed state it’s too difficult so we assumed it’s sunk cost from 2030 right? Just putting it out there I find the non-expert has done a great job of being a journalist
@QuixoticQuant This has to be done, pinnacle of the energy narrative in Australia. This is like Utopia playing out in real time can imagine them in the room “can we just not exclude those expensive ones to make it look cheaper?”
@QuixoticQuant 3/3 It concerns me that efficiency isn’t being looked at harder here, when removing coal should be a priority. Electricity costs are only increasing, the low hanging fruit VREs have been picked and with VRE/Transmission costs blowing out, someone has to recover those costs…
@QuixoticQuant 2/3 which would be likely less than the Victorian electricity grid. Grattan claim a high price of biomethane/H2 compared to NG which is a fallacy, on one hand we accept paying a premium for renewable electricity through LGCs but we want delivered renewable gas at the same price!
@QuixoticQuant @pm_mcd This is a hilarious discussion, almost as good as saying my cost of electricity is free because my battery, solar, electrification and insulation was sunk cost before I started tracking my cost of electricity…
