A better/more fair way to look at it is rushing attempts

Dickerson set the single-season rushing record in 379 attempts

Saquon is currently at 345 attempts

So he would have 32 attempts to do it in fewer attempts than Dickerson did, which is more meaningful than games played

The attempts for both will be basically the same. The “17th game” thing doesn’t really matter
