Jasmine Crockett: “A woman was killed. She was shot in her head and yall are pretending like nothing happened. Is it okay because you have a badge? Can yall not just have a little bit of courage and humanity? A child has lost her mom and yall want to pretend that it is okay. You tell us things like well the immigrants are bad. The Mayor of Minneapolis told yall to get the fuck out. It is this administration that is bringing crime to their streets.“
Congratulations to our new Miss Universe.
Tonight, a star was born. Her grace, strength, and radiant spirit captured the hearts of the world, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome her as our new queen. The universe shines a little brighter with her leading the way. ✨🌍👑
So are we going to discuss that this sitting US President has called for the execution of sitting members of Congress? Do you know what happens if anyone else does that to him?! Law enforcement shows up and locks them up.
This man is not only unworthy of the office and may be emboldened by the company he’s been keeping, but he’s downright Dangerous.
I’ll wait for the “good people on both sides,” to denounce this!
Thank you, PA for retaining your judges!
Thank you so much to all of you in NY for rejecting the antics of TRUMP & electing a mayor who wants to fight for the best NYC possible through the eyes of the forgotten; the people!
Thank you CALI for fighting FIRE W/FIRE: Prop 50 has passed!
Thank you, GA, for making history we didn’t even anticipate (first 2 non federal level Dems elected statewide in 25 years!)
Thank you, VA & NJ for electing democrats to your Governors’ mansions!
Thank you sooo much to those of you who voted in the special election to elect @CDMenefee as your next member of Congress in CD18!
Thank you to Orlando for flipping a council seat!
Tonight has given me so much hope for our ability & Will to fight for what’s best for ALL OF US, COLLECTIVELY!
Obama: It is not as if we didn't see some of this coming. I will admit it is worse than even I expected, but I did warn you all. I did. You can run the tape.
And by the way, he warned you too, because he said what he would do. But the fact is there were plenty of people who voted for Trump and Republicans anyway. And it wasn't because they wanted to give up the right to free speech or see public health systems torn down, but because they were understandably frustrated with inflation and gas prices and the difficulty of affording a home and worries about their children's future.
Now, nine months later, you have got to ask yourself, has any of that gotten better?
It sure has gotten better for Trump and his family.
Jasmine Crockett: “This administration is racist. He has always been a racist. The culture is created at the top. We know that we have a racist at the top. Everybody has decided it’s okay to take off their hoods and mask up as ICE agents. It reminds me of the klan.”
Actor Robert De Niro on Donald Trump: “He has no empathy. He’s an alien. And he wants to hurt this country. It’s something deeply psychological in him. He wants to hurt people, he wants to hurt this country. I don’t understand the people in his cabinet. How they can live with themselves after what they’ve allowed him to do?”
Brandon Johnson: "He has defunded our education system. He has defunded our transportation system. He is firing black women across this country. He's defunding our healthcare system. This president is absolutely out of control. If there was ever a time for working people to unite in this country, now is that time. The city of Chicago is going to stand firm in protecting humanity and in protecting and defending our democracy."
After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like. https://t.co/uts7JpJZzN
What we are witnessing is an outright abuse of power.
This administration is attacking critics and using fear as a weapon to silence anyone who would speak out. Media corporations — from television networks to newspapers — are capitulating to these threats.
We cannot dare to be silent or complacent in the face of this frontal assault on free speech.
We, the People, deserve better.
Labor Day is a chance to celebrate America’s workers, and the labor unions who have fought so hard for them. But at a time when AI is threatening to disrupt or even eliminate entire categories of jobs, it’s also important to think about how we can embrace new technology without losing the purpose and dignity that comes with work.
Since we passed the Affordable Care Act, Republicans have tried over and over to repeal it. And over and over, they’ve failed — in part because millions of people now depend on the ACA for quality, affordable health care.
Now Republicans are trying something different: quietly weakening the law and hoping you won’t notice. We can’t let them.
