Pretty big memory leak inside of #Hytale 🚨
Inside of PluginBase there is a list called shutdownTasks, this is used by all plugins, including the core plugins like the NPCPlugin. The NPCPlugin registeres EventViews for each world but doesn't remove them when a world is unloaded. The event handlers hold references to the EventView which holds the World, preventing the world from being garbage collected when unloaded resulting in RAM growing until an OOM happens. This mainly affects servers which rely on heavy world usage like minigames or skyblock servers.

@Simon_Hypixel is there any future where Hytale's server code would be open-sourced so that forks and modifications could be made alongside the work that the Hytale team is doing?
Id love to dive into fixing stability issues but it's hard when relying on decompiled server code

@HytaleModding@pxl_panda Just launched HyUI today, a library to manage Hytale interfaces a lot easier. It uses a component-based event-driven system similar to what we see with modern web tech. Posted some demos and a link to use it on my profile!
@ThinkSludge Check out my profile! Did a deep dive into the UI and made some improvements for easier management of UI elements and eventing. Thinking it may be worth open sourcing what I’ve created to simplify UI and make it more streamlined for everyone, not sure if the need is there though
