Jay Wright (Villanova) was a Culture KING.
Why?
Here are 5 Jay Wright quotes that shed some light💡.
1: “We have a saying that everyone’s role is different, but everyone’s status is the same. It’s a reminder that no matter how bright the spotlight gets, we are all part of something much larger than ourselves.”
- WE > ME
- Be a star in your role
2: “The most important characteristic any of us have is our attitude. It’s a concept that permeates everything you do. We all bring our attitude to every situation.”
- Attitude is everything
- Be an energy giver
3: “We're not complex in what we do X-and-O-wise, but we do spend a lot of time on how we react mentally to every situation.”
- Simple Wins
- Mental toughness
4: “If you think about how good you are as opposed to what the next challenge is going to be, then you’ve already lost. We have to stay humble.”
- Humble wins
- Gratitude matters
5: “After we won in 2016, the goal wasn't to win another [national title]. The goal was to keep our culture strong. We knew that for us, that was the best chance of winning it again. If we tried to win it another way, we weren't going to win it anyway.”
- Culture is Every Day

New season kicks off March 15!
And unlike that guy who ordered Fireball at dinner and kept saying “crypto is the future,” this is one date you’ll want to remember.
@Educhatter@MarchandRobertJ@OntHumanRights@FountasPinnell Just finished listening to Emily Hanford's "Sold a Story" podcast. Worth the listen and although I'm not an elementary teacher, it made me curious about early elementary curriculum/approaches here in NS.
@MrZachG Couldn't disagree more. Schools are communities unto themselves and an extension of the broader communities they serve. To say building that community through co-curricular (not extra) activities & supporting Ss outside the classroom is not what teachers should aspire to is wrong
@SchaferMon33 Always loved that approach. While "collisions" are often left to chance, being deliberate about creating opportunities with colleagues (and Ss) ensures a more inclusive and welcoming environment.

Is there a more telling indicator of trust, belief, and friendship than when someone reaches out to you when it feels like their world is imploding?

The value of the lessons taught to you by a mentor can be measured in how often you revisit and reflect on them after you apart from that person.

Neither of these girls will likely see this tweet, but having taught and coached them since grade 7 and 9, I have watched them grow into smart, confident young women who will be leaders wherever they go in life. Incredible.
