Some children initially said they weren’t bothered because they wear trousers anyway, but one boy was quick to share that he felt worried about how some of the girls may feel if they couldn’t wear their skirts.
So proud of our empathetic pupils at Shelf School!
We shared this week’s Picture News in classes so we could really debate this week’s issue. The children really enjoyed the debate. One child in KS1 said ‘that she wouldn’t like to have to wear trousers as they are uncomfortable’. @HelpPicture

Today we had the pleasure in taking part in the orienteering event at Old Brodleians. The sun was shining and the children had a great time. Even in this heat they managed to come runners up.
This week at Shelf we held an KS2 inter-house orienteering competition. Everyone got involved and had a fun filled afternoon, an added bonus was the beautiful weather. Thanks to Callum #schoolgamesorganiser
We are already looking forward to the next inter-house competition

On Friday our year 5&6 entered a dodgeball tournament. They worked as a team and played really well. We made it to the final, it was very a very close final but we finished as winners. We had a fabulous afternoon and to come away with a trophy too!
Today we had another fabulous afternoon at the School Games, this week we competed in New Age Kurling. We managed to get through to the finals and the girls gave it their all and we came 2nd out of the 16 teams who entered. Another super afternoon organised by School Games.
