Sooooo let’s just get this straight. You want a salary cap to force your owner to spend more money. Answer me this, why on earth should other owners around the league who actually want to spend money and want to put a competitive team on the field be limited on what they can spend all because your owner doesn’t spend any? You wanna get owners to spend money why don’t we make all owners sign a contract when they buy these teams that says they need to be a playoff contending team within a specific amount of time or they gotta sell? Ensure that no billionaire can just buy a team and coast, they actually have to try in order to keep the team. Why are we instead implementing a salary cap that A) punishes the ownership groups that actually care about winning and actually spend money and B) won’t change the competitive balance around the league because a salary floor doesn’t change cheap owners?

They’re still gonna spend the bare minimum which won’t make much of a difference in the long run. I’m just saying if your MLB and your looking at the forecast and weather experts are calling for bad weather for days don’t wait til the literal last day possible to make a decision. Figure it out early and give your audience, an audience that’s already dying, more time to figure shit out. It’s absurd

Or better yet here’s another solution to make this shit better for the fans. Why don’t we drop the damn prices for these playoff tickets and make it more affordable? If people didn’t have to sell their kidneys for one ticket maybe people wouldn’t care so much about losing money on the game. Losing $40-$50 on tickets is a way easier pill to swallow than $1,500 a ticket. If they made games more affordable to begin with maybe they wouldn’t get so much backlash if they had to make these knee-jerk decisions.

A) there’s no guarantee the games gonna be rained out. Forecasts aren’t always accurate. They’ve had worst forecasts for playoff games in the past in different areas of the country and never changed game time, why is this the first time they do it?

B) If they wanted to take the safe route and move the game up why couldn’t they do it earlier than 24 hours before game time? They’ve known about this forecast for how long? And they just now make a decision and put their fans in a time crunch and scramble this close to game time? You wanna change the game whatever, make the decision early and give your audience that plan on going at least a decent amount of time to figure out a plan b. Giving your fans a tad over 24 hours to figure it out is ridiculous.

1) trying to re sell tickets doesn’t automatically mean someone’s gonna buy them and give him his money back

2) why should he have to pay any extra money to change anything? They already charge an arm and a leg to go to these playoff games now they wanna switch it up at the literal last second and tell everyone that already made accommodations to go the original game “sorry if you wanna come spend more money”???
