With my first novel I printed it early on (small font) and laid out the chapters on the floor and moved them around. I needed the big picture. #Scrivener does that. Also a place to store dates and names that I might forget.

I like #scrivener because I move things around. Helps with the timeline. I think the key is only use what you need and not try to learn all of it. I needed something where it was easy to see where I put things and not have to sift through (or run searches) on large portions.

Crime shows, mysteries, and Lifetime movies make millions off of formulaic premises. Not Noble Prize worthy but entertaining.

Regular person has super powers or regular person is really royalty? Rom coms, thrillers - long lost relative shows up and is invited in ... married person has affair & gets a stalker etc. Overdone premises we enjoy if we like the genre. Each writer adds a flair.
