What an experience getting to work and learn with the players of College Prep Italy 🇮🇹 and @AlexJSarama, @CoachJDGonzalo, @jonasdebruyne_, and Giacomo Cocchini over the last 3 months! Excited to share what I’ve learned back home 🇨🇦
Jon Yu provides another great example of an advantage start. This isn't just for offense though!
These are great activities for challenging the defense to ensure there is an active MIG (most important girl) as help side responsibilities randomly change.
At College Prep Italy, @J_Yu08 and @alexjsarama worked on creating an optimal onboarding process to accelerate learning for players joining a team mid or late season.
Today was day 1 of our new 4-on-3, 3-on-2 Fast Break League for U8/U10 out here in 🇻🇳
The goal was to give kids as many opportunities for success as possible so that they fall in love with the game and help grow basketball culture here

Last week I had the opportunity to speak to the next wave of PHE teachers at my alma mater @UBC about utilizing the CLA within teaching.
I could see gears begin turning as they reflected on their own teaching/coaching practices, especially when I read them @ShakeyWaits’ preface!
"Combining the use of the CLA with teaching/learning about defensive coverages and coverage solutions was one of the biggest takeaways from my time in Italy." Learn more in this guest blog by @J_Yu08
At Transforming Basketball, we make use of "repetition without repetition" frequently. But what this actually mean? In this video, the constraints naturally promote rep without rep in the context of finishing.
I tell everyone that comes into a workout that I will design the problem but I won’t tell them how to solve it.
The objective here is to “shoot a rainbow” w/ only BRADs/Swishes +1.
Different movement solutions focused on generating power… and he’s only 12!
@transformbball
Experimenting now with no dribbles but can throw it off the wall to yourself to create an advantage.
Fun watching 6’10” Malcolm find different solutions to the problem!
Repetition without repetition 🔑 🧠

Still one of my favourite activities!
Now we have two passers and the offense can score at any of the 3 baskets.
Defender has one hand behind their back the whole time.
Always a ton of creative solutions with the spatial constraint!

Mosquito Shooting: stole this one from @AlexJSarama. The mosquito gives different types of contests the whole time. In this version, each person will have 1:20 to see how many BRADs they can make. Simple game that can be constrained with # of dribbles, types of shots, etc.
Drop the ball saturn's rings 1-on-1:
- O1 starts with the ball above the head.
- X1 "orbits" O1.
- From the moment O1 drops the ball, X1 can contest the shot.
S/O to @J_Yu08 for the orbit-idea🙏
