I hate the G-Class.
Well, I hate what it has become. In 1988, a man named Gunther Holtorf decided to set off on an 18-month trip around Africa. You're probably wondering who Otto is. Well, it's a Mercedes-Benz 300 GD he bought for the occasion. His partner Christine joined the adventure in 1990. But in 2010 the story took a tragic turn, Christine died of cancer. She made him promise to continue this life.
By 2014, the adventure had spanned 26 years, crossed 215 countries and territories, and covered 900,000km.
I think this is one of my favorite stories because it shows that the automobile is not just 4 wheels and an engine, it's literally a travel companion.
