The demise of late PMB has certainly marked an end of an era and a defining moment in Nigeria polity, needless to say that he has created a vacuum in our political landscape looking at his verse influence even beyond the shores of Nigeria.
Every June 12 is supposed to be a day to celebrate and commemorate a significant progress in our democratic journey, but sadly the unpatriotic successive governments have perpetually continued to undermine and set the country back to a toddler phase of nascent democracy.
"They offered me $5 million to shoot Ibrahim Traoré from behind specifically when he bends to pray to Allah. They even promised my family and me citizenship in their country. They called it 'an offer I couldn’t refuse.' To them, money matters more than humanity.
But I asked myself. Is $5 million worth carrying a guilty conscience to my grave? Will that money make me a king in a foreign land, or a fool mocked by their sons and daughters? I’d rather live as a lion in the wild than as a dog in their city."
~ Ibrahim Traoré 's guard
You’re a coward, there’s no justification for blasphemy in Islam irrespective of who committed the blasphemy that person will be dealt with, in Islam blasphemy is a no go area especially towards our beloved prophet, you should get that.
Northern influencers are posting back to back, outraged over the brutal murder of 16 innocent Hausa travelers in Edo. Their voices are loud, their condemnation swift. And rightfully so, innocent lives were taken in the most barbaric way.
But where is this same energy when a person is lynched in the North for blasphemy? Where is the outrage when mobs take justice into their own hands, burning and killing in the name of religion? They either go silent or, worse, justify the act.
Even their favorite politicians have found the courage to condemn this killing, writing long epistles without fear. No deleted posts, no retractions. But had this been a case of blasphemy, would they have dared? Or would they have chosen silence, fearing the same mob they secretly empower?
This is what hypocrisy looks like. When it is killing for blasphemy it is justified. When it is mob violence outside the North it is an atrocity. If mob justice is wrong, then it is wrong everywhere. But for them, morality is not about right or wrong, it is about who the victim is.
My appeal to our southern counterparts particularly to their elders and those exposed and conversant with the North in terms of tolerance, accommodation and savagery they should speak a voice of wisdom and reason to those their inexperience, intolerant and barbaric youths who are
gullible and think they have monopoly of violence,In the interest of peaceful coexistence they should enlighten their people because the North has equally all manner of psyche people that can replicate either in equal proportion or even more than what they are doing to us enough
@saleeenco violence, and mind you I’m not trying to side with anyone i will just love to see how you will use your wisdom to handle it in the best way possible.
@saleeenco Mr Presido you still did not answer my question, but rather you provoked another discussion. As a student of politics and a one time president of SUG BUk what would you have done differently looking at the current political atmosphere in rivers coupled with the potentiality of
If you’re really interested to understand hypocrisy in politics in practical not in theory this explain it in simpler form ,may God spare our lives to witness 2027 😂😂😂
Today our country find itself in one of the most difficult Turbulent times in history, where distrust has prevailed between the citizens of the country and it key institutions of the state: The political institution, the religious institution, the traditional institution they
all have compromised in the cause of discharging their responsibilities as the custodians of values, morality and ethics. Sadly these are realities that we all have to accept if there’s no one single institution that the public trust and have the capacity to enforce social order
It’s only in Nigeria that you will see a legitimate government sponsoring an illegitimate protest to counter a legitimate protest by concern citizens. However the government failed to understand that you can only get what you inspire.
Nigeria is a very funny country were the policians have proven over and beyond any reasonable doubt to be uncivilized and barbaric in the way and manner they handle governance with their primitive accumulation, breach of law with impunity, absolute disregard for the downtrodden,
