RIP Charlie Munger
Charlie Munger. Ever heard of him?
He's the guy who went from rags to riches. Built an empire.
And he did it with Warren Buffett.
Want to know how?
THREAD 🧵 2 min read
1/ Charlie wasn't born rich. Nope.
He was just a kid when the Great Depression hit. Had to work hard just to get by.
Even worked at Buffett's family grocery store. Twelve-hour days. For $2.
2/ But Charlie had brains. And ambition.
He got into the University of Michigan. Studied math.
Then WWII came. Charlie joined up. Became a meteorologist.
Smart guy? You bet. The military saw his high IQ.
3/ After the war, Charlie hit the books again.
Went to Harvard Law School. Became a lawyer.
But life threw punches. Divorce. His son's illness.
It drained his savings. Made him think about wealth differently.
4/ Charlie decided owning businesses was key to wealth.
He invested in a small company. Even borrowed money to do it.
It was tough. He had to downsize. But he learned. Saw what worked.
5/ Then came real estate.
Charlie saw L.A.'s potential. People were flocking there.
He invested. And boom. A 400% return on a $100,000 investment.
6/ Even with millions from real estate, Charlie kept his day job.
He was cautious. Didn't want to risk it all.
But he stopped after five projects. Why?
He had a new game plan.
7/ Charlie teamed up with Buffett.
They took over Blue Chip Stamps. Invested in See's Candies.
Faced down copycats. Grew the business.
And Berkshire Hathaway? It became a powerhouse.
8/ But every empire has its limits.
Berkshire Hathaway is huge. Hard to find new places to invest.
But Charlie and Warren? They adapt.
They expanded their "circle of competence" to tech giants like Apple and Amazon.
9/ Charlie Munger's life? It's a masterclass in business.
From physics to law to real estate to investing.
He's seen it all. Done it all.
That's the story of Charlie Munger. A tale of grit, brains, and the pursuit of wealth. Not just for himself, but for his family and beyond.
Remember, it's not about where you start. It's about where you're going. And how hard you're willing to work to get there.

If you could see into the future, you would probably be surprised by the things you accomplish in life. Sadly most people don't capitalize on their talent/opportunity due to self-doubt. So realize that you can achieve ANYTHING you want & go work your ass off to making it happen!
7.) Treat trading like the multi-year marathon that it is, use the first few months, or even years, to trade small, or even paper trade on @StocksToTrade & increase your knowledge as much as possible so you can be better prepared/more confident to trade bigger after a few years
6.) This is how great-students-turned-masters like @Jackaroo_Trades cross into 8-figure territory ($11.3 million now!) & he's made nearly $500k in the past week alone! Watch https://t.co/9dWFKHPFQV to see how he did odd jobs & saved while studying & actually lost $2k in year one
5.) Remember the most $ & success comes over time so don't feel bad if you don't succeed right away, NONE of my millionaire students banked much, or even anything, in their first year while learning. The best traders start small & prioritize learning/optimizing then scaling later
4.) Also remember that different markets call for different strategies, everyone using strategies that worked well in 2020/2021 have gotten destroyed in 2022. So aside from patience/discipline, you must also be able to adapt so it's good to learn multiple strategies & be flexible
3.) Having the patience/discipline to wait for the best setups that pay the most over time is very difficult & it's part of the reason why I travel so much so as to distract my degenerate-self from overtrading. I trade SO much better when I'm sleep deprived & trading on weak wifi
1.) FAR too many traders overtrade, mistakenly trying to grind for lousy $20-50 profits on tons of scalps dozens or even hundreds of times/day. What's worse, sometimes you'll be wrong so it's tough to make $1k-$10k let alone $100k+/day. Scalping is VERY time-consuming/unrewarding
2.) A lot of the best trading rules I've learned over time are counter-intuitive...you can make much more $, be much less frustrated & have higher odds of success by trading less & being extra-meticulous while waiting for ideal setups that can yield far more than any little scalp
10:20pm study check, who's still up studying, making your watchlist or reviewing your @StocksToTrade scans? Remember that preparation is absolutely vital to success so plan your trades ahead of time, don't wait until the last second like too many losing traders do far too often!
9:27pm study check, retweet/favorite this if you're still up studying, reviewing your @StocksToTrade scans or are making your watchlist for tomorrow...or if you already finished your watchlist & you put in a few hours of study already this weekend! HOW BAD DO YOU WANT SUCCESS?
11:11pm study/dream check, retweet/fav this if you're still up studying or put in at least an hour or two today & if you promise to dream big & then work your ass off to turn those big dreams into reality! You are capable of achieving ANYTHING you put your mind to, DREAM HUUUUGE!
