@SABCNews We would like to bring to your attention that the South African Sign Language (SASLI) interpreter was visible and then disappeared while President Ramaphosa was delivering his speech. As a result, the Deaf community was denied access to the President's message. We find this unacceptable and request that SABC conducts a thorough investigation into this matter. #FamilyMeeting @PresidencyZA@DeafsaInfo
@eNCA@MasegoRahlaga We kindly request that eNCA ensures programs are accessible to Deaf and Hard of Hearing viewers by providing SASLI interpreters and closed captions. This will enable us to enjoy equal access to information and entertainment especially from 6am on #DSTV403#dstv194.
✨ International Week of Deaf People✨
📅 22 – 28 September 2025
Let’s celebrate deaf culture, promote equality, and raise our voices to ensure a world where deaf people everywhere can sign anywhere. 🌐
#IWDP#IDSL
International Day of Sign Languages
No Human Rights Without Sign Language Rights
Deaf people can only fully enjoy their human rights when their right to use sign language is recognised and upheld. While progress has been made under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, challenges remain. Our goal is a world where every deaf person can sign freely, everywhere. #Deaf #IWDP2025 #IDSL #Deafawareness @DeafsaInfo@WFDeaf_org #signlanguage
