I don't read most things, but if y'all ain't heard, the Portland Press Herald (ME) is reporting that second round pick Trejyn Fletcher has agreed to contract terms with the @Cardinals.

I like Dirty Dan, but rather than that reunion, I'd prefer Jurickson Profar, if suitable terms can be reached. Realistically, this would likely necessitate moving Gyorko to ensure Profar gets enough at bats as the super utility guy.

Personally I'm guessing the #STLCards protect 6 of those guys (or trade them), and with little in the way of obvious candidates for DFA, trades seem most likely route to create space.

Then there's the case of Wadye Ynfante. Plenty of raw talent, still hasn't really broken out yet, so tough call for #STLCards to use a 40 man spot there, but lots of upside.

Quick glance shows Max Schrock, Lane Thomas, Ryan Helsley, Genesis Cabrera, and Junior Fernandez becoming R5 eligible for the #STLCards this offseason. Also, trade acquisitions Johan Mieses, Casey Meisner, and Roel Ramirez already were.

The #STLCards are going to face some tough roster decisions. I expect an active trade front involving some 40 man roster guys to make space for prospects needing protection from Rule 5.
