What's your go-to move when the code "just works" in your local environment but fails in production/staging?

A) Panic, then carefully dig through logs and environment differences

B) Blame the infrastructure / DevOps / “it worked on my machine” and move on

C) Immediately add more logging, feature flags, and defensive checks

D) Re-run the exact same steps in a clean container/CI to reproduce it first

Everything you said is 100% absolutely true. I'm just talk about some anecdotal experience that I am sure is more wide spread. Over the years we have transitioned every single windows sever to red hat Linux enterprise or SUSe Enterprise Linux. Minus one of course to run active directory. We have also transitioned about 40% of our "customer" facing devices to Linux as well.

The number one reason being that we are transitioning everything to be purely VM / Docker Container. This is one of the few situations that Linux is superior and being widely adopted by the gov.

@Sarthak4Alpha Honestly this can be gamed in many ways. I guess all that matters is if it's 20,000 real contributions or if it's a bot modifying 1 line of a dummy file everyday.

@hugospdx I think the number one issue with this is the fact that it will compound the hallucination problem. Erroneous data making it's way into teaching the AI could fundamentally worsen it's output at a fast pace.

@yashmp2004 Ofc it depends on how you use the tool. If you mindlessly rely on the tool then you're going backwards and you won't have a decent product. If you use the tool to expedite and explain solutions, then you're still gaining something from the experience.

@yashmp2004 It's not like people want to have to learn how to setup and redo things they can mindlessly handle on windows. Not to mention Microsoft's multi decade monopoly is only starting to soften.
