Cybersecurity cooperation requires tools that facilitate communication, information sharing, and coordination among countries.

To support these efforts, we have enhanced the Internal Portal of the Working Group on Cooperation and Confidence-Building Measures in Cyberspace of the @OAS_Official.

The platform has been designed to support the practical implementation of the Cyber Confidence-Building Measures #CBMs agreed upon by member states and to strengthen the work of the 104 points of contact designated by the 29 member states participating in the Working Group.

Among the improved features of the portal are:
🟦 Improvement of the Points of Contact Directory.
🟦 Policy Repository to share national cybersecurity strategies, legal frameworks, and other relevant documents.
🟦 Exchange of key access information on Working Group activities and events.
🟦 Consult reports on cyber threat trends of their respective country.
🟦 Strengthen direct communication and collaboration among points of contact.

This initiative reflects the commitment of #OAS to continue promoting tools that strengthen regional cooperation, trust, and resilience in cyberspace.

New INTERPOL report highlights escalating cyber threats across Asia and South Pacific

INTERPOL’s latest Asia and South Pacific Cyberthreat Assessment Report has revealed a dramatic increase in cybercrime across the region driven by rapid digitalization, new technologies and increasingly organized criminal networks.

➡️ The report found that more than half of the countries surveyed reported cybercrime now accounting for 30% of all crimes recorded nationally.

Cyber-scam techniques such as phishing have emerged as the most widespread and financially damaging form of cybercrime, with 33% of countries reporting over 10,000 cases.

Other key regional trends highlighted include:

🔵 Ransomware: More than 135,000 ransomware-related attacks, affecting sectors such as real estate, manufacturing and financial services.
🔵 DDoS attacks: A 92% increase in 2024 compared to the previous year.
🔵 AI-driven crime: Discussions about deepfakes on forums and channels popular among Southeast Asian threat actors increased by 600% from February to June 2024.
🔵 Phishing: 5.5 out of every 1,000 individuals had clicked on phishing links monthly – approximately twice the global average – with cloud applications the primary targets.
🔵 Data breaches: System intrusions accounted for approximately 80% of all data breaches, with malware and ransomware present in 83% and 51% of cases respectively.

La Secretaría de Asuntos Nucleares presenta los Lineamientos de la Política Nuclear Argentina 2026, el marco doctrinario que ordena al sector y define su horizonte estratégico.

Los Lineamientos ordenan la política nuclear nacional en torno a cuatro objetivos jerarquizados:

1. Exportaciones nucleares de alto valor agregado.
2. Seguridad energética.
3. Preservación y desarrollo de la capacidad tecnológica nacional.
4. Liderazgo regional y posicionamiento geopolítico.

La nueva Política Nuclear Argentina separa con claridad la conducción política de la operación del sector. Y, por primera vez, convoca al sector privado a invertir para potenciar cada eslabón del sector nuclear argentino, bajo un esquema que busca un circulo virtuoso en el que la CNEA aporta investigación, desarrollo y profesionales de calidad y las empresas invierten en proyectos nacionales y toman el riesgo.

Argentina domina el ciclo completo del combustible nuclear —capacidad que poseen pocos países en el mundo— y cuenta con credenciales de no proliferación intachables.

Estos lineamientos buscan convertir esa capacidad técnica en industria a escala, exportaciones sostenidas y retorno verificable para el país, consolidando un sector moderno, competitivo, transparente y fundado en resultados.
