This is one of the reasons @taylorlpierce and I started flexible scheduling in our elementary class. Students work at their own pace all day to complete work based on their needs.
The amount of students’ time that is wasted during school days haunts me
Waiting for classmates to finish. Waiting for classmates to stop talking. Waiting for the bell to ring. Time wasted just waiting
Love giving students choice. 😍 Reading, math project, fraction practice, social studies research, and science experiment all happening simultaneously while I meet with small groups. Allowing students freedom to make their own schedules each day. 🙌🏻
So proud of my students for raising $1,038.35 for their service learning project - all while VIRTUAL! Projects included: trivia night, hobby classes, digital breakout, t-shirts. WOW! @AfftonSchools@Gotsch_learns
I was nominated by @manuelherrera33 to post a picture everyday from a day in the life of an educator. I will post without explanation and nominate someone else to take the challenge. 7 days, 7 pictures and 7 nominations. @AnnaSteffen3

My virtual 5th graders created artifacts to design an exhibit for the Revolutionary War. So many exciting things created, from Legos to cardboard to Minecraft videos. WOW! Can’t wait to see tomorrow’s exhibits.

Today was my birthday. I have lunch with my students every Thursday virtually, and we play Among Us. Today’s version was a birthday party - notice all of the party hats! @relationshipsmatter
I love that virtual learning has opened up new possibilities. My students are raising money for the homeless by hosting virtual hobby classes AND my own children get to participate! Learning to code and drawing cartoons.
Happy New Year Teachers! To kick off 2021, I'm giving away two signed CLASS SETS of an I Survived Book of your choice, plus a Zoom with your class. Follow me and RT if you want to enter. I'll notify winners this Thursday, 1/7.
@halseanderson@AuthorVillage@SSEdLib I just filled it out. I read Chains every year with my students, and it’s a favorite!! This would be amazing to meet with you virtually!
@CastelliTeach We have been doing digital breakouts all year, and my 5th graders are creating one for others. They are enjoying the challenge of creating puzzles using math skills!
There are plenty of puppy play dates ahead for this crew! Candie, Cacia, and Camille all went home with different members of the same family! Congrats to all!
@HelderMTavares@stumpteacher I didn’t have a budget, just kids that wanted a space to play. We agreed on a couple of games based on ratings. I rolled in Promethean boards from other teachers to allow for multiple screens. Kids brought the consoles and games-I contacted parents to arrange.
