As the owner and custodian of Camelot Castle, we made the resolute decision to reject the government’s proposal to repurpose this historic landmark as a housing facility for illegal migrants, despite significant commercial enticement.

The financial incentives offered were substantial, but the price our community and loyal staff would have paid—culturally, socially, economically and morally—would have rendered any profit from a different decision callous and cruel.

Camelot Castle is more than a building; it is a sacred emblem of our heritage, embodying the values, history, and identity that have shaped our nation for centuries. To allow it to be used by those who have entered our country unlawfully would desecrate its significance and jeopardize the cohesion of the local community that we hold dear.

Our decision rested on a fundamental principle: the rule of law is the bedrock of any thriving society. Illegal migration, by its very nature, undermines this foundation.

When individuals bypass legal pathways, it erodes the trust and mutual respect that bind us, fostering division and resentment among those who uphold the law. This is not a rejection of compassion but a recognition of the broader consequences of rewarding lawlessness. Studies, such as those from the Center for Immigration Studies, show that unchecked migration can strain social cohesion, with some communities experiencing up to a 20% increase in local crime rates when integration fails. I could not ignore these realities when considering the future of our town.

The cultural stakes are profound. Camelot Castle stands as a testament to our shared traditions, stories, and values. Repurposing it for transient needs would signal that our heritage is negotiable—a dangerous precedent that could unravel the fabric of our identity. Across Europe, particularly during the 2015 migration surge, we have seen how rapid, unmanaged demographic shifts can erode local customs and community spirit, leaving alienation in their wake. For our staff, who pour their hearts into preserving the castle’s legacy, and for our community, who see it as a symbol of pride, such a decision would have been a betrayal of their trust and dedication.

Practical concerns also loomed large. Our local schools, healthcare systems, and public services are already stretched thin. Housing a significant number of unvetted individuals would overburden these resources, diminishing the quality of life for residents who have built this community within the bounds of the law. Evidence from similar situations shows that poorly managed migration can lead to strained public services and heightened social tensions. The government’s financial offer, while tempting, could not outweigh the toll this would take on our staff’s morale and our community’s well-being. Profiting at the expense of their stability would have been unconscionable.

Camelot Castle is a beacon of our past and a promise to future generations. Allowing it to become a migrant facility would transform it into a flashpoint for division, undermining its symbolic power. My decision was a stand for principle over expediency—a commitment to preserving the values that have made our community strong: respect for law, pride in our heritage, and dedication to the common good. The cost of accepting the government’s offer would have been borne not in pounds but in the erosion of our identity, the strain on our resources, and the disheartening of our staff. No financial gain could justify such a cruel outcome.

A sane government should work on lawful, sustainable solutions that honour both compassion and accountability.

Camelot Castle will be beacon for sanity, not a pawn in political schemes.

As Guardians, we are determined to protect its legacy and the community that surrounds it, ensuring it continues as a source of pride for generations.

I love Britain. I really do. We've got the best people in the world. We need a Government that will put us first, protect our interests and get the hell out of our way.

The net migration figures are almost too vast to comprehend - almost reaching ONE million for the year to June 2023, 728,000 for this June (likely to be revised upwards).

This is the establishment irreversibly changing our country, and our communities, despite being instructed to do the EXACT opposite over and over again by the British electorate.

It is a historic betrayal - we voted in 2010 to cut immigration, the same in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019. What happened? It went up and up and up.

Lies, lies and more lies.

Immigration can ONLY work with integration. Have we had that? Go to parts of London, Bradford, Rochdale and plenty of others - there is ZERO integration from certain communities. They haven't even tried, encouraged and enabled by a two-tier system that tolerates such division.

We need to urgently change course. Drastically and immediately slash the number of people coming into our country legally so that we can take stock and focus on the problem of illegal migrants flooding across the Channel and camped in hotels around the UK.

Nobody here illegally stays, nobody who comes illegally stays. That means deportations, and lots of them. Grasp the nettle, and get it done.

Then, an immigration system fit for the British people can be implemented with the interests of the British people as THE priority.

We just can't take any more. It's that simple.

Schools full, hospitals failing, roads packed, house prices soaring, nothing works, the country is falling apart - why?

Uncontrolled mass immigration. The root cause of almost every issue we face.

We need to be selfish. If targeted immigration works for Britain, great - they are welcome. If not? Then sorry, but the answer is no.

I whole heartedly encourage anyone with young kids that have the ability to leave to do so. Todays events in Southport have rocked me to the core, im sat here looking at my daughters feeling sad.

You can still work on trying to get your voice heard while your kids are safe.
