As the woke left tries desperately to cancel Ed Sheeran for trying to keep politics out of his music, the country world has rallies around him.
After all of the opening acts and even his own house band turned on Sheeran, he got a call from Kid Rock letting him know that he and several of his close friends have Ed's back.
"I'll have some of the biggest opening acts of all time," said Sheeran. "I feel like I should be opening for some of them."
Kid Rock will perform at least five shows, including the dates at Gillette Stadium. Other artists who have committed to lending a hand include Jason Aldean, Morgan Wallen, and Hank Williams Jr.

Wow After a snooze here in hospital this morning, while my IV drip was being changed, someone mentioned that Ed Sheeran had been removed from the Classic Hits Radio playlist.

At first, I assumed I was still dreaming, as I tend to have quite surreal dreams at times. I have now checked and, remarkably, it is true.

I woke to reports of firearms allegedly being carried by non-Irish nationals in Dublin and subsequently dumped in bins, along with a mountain of DMs that I am not even going to attempt to read today because my head is completely fried.

But amid all that, apparently Ed Sheeran is now the pressing danger to Irish radio.

So what exactly did Ed do?

The station acknowledges that removing Macklemore from Sheeran’s US tour was the promoter’s decision, not Sheeran’s. It also accepts that Sheeran tried to find a resolution. Yet it has decided to punish him by removing his music “for the foreseeable future.”

Classic Hits says this is about respecting artists who act according to their sincerely held convictions. But does that respect not also extend to Ed Sheeran, particularly when the decision at the centre of the controversy was not his?

I have spent long enough in radio to understand that every station has the right to decide what appears on its playlist. However, removing an artist’s entire catalogue over a political dispute in which the station accepts he was not the decision-maker is something else entirely.

It reminds me of the bygone days of 1991, when the BBC circulated a list of 67 songs considered unsuitable for broadcast during the Gulf War. More than 35 years later, we appear to be drifting back towards the idea that music must be filtered according to the prevailing political mood.

The reference to “listener feedback” also raises questions. How many listeners requested this? Was any representative research conducted, or did management make a political decision and invoke unnamed listeners to justify it?

Classic Hits is perfectly entitled to choose its music. Listeners are equally entitled to recognise this for what it appears to be: a political loyalty test dressed up as compassion.

Perhaps they could now publish the full list of political opinions artists must hold before their records are considered safe for broadcast.

Anyway, back to the drip. Apparently the infection wasn’t the strangest thing I would encounter in hospital today.

This was the inevitable outcome of the Gender Recognition Act when Irish politicians ushered in “the best little progressive country in the world.” They wanted to the “first and the best boys” in the class.

We have gone from a nation who locked away mothers & babies if they didn’t meet the purity test, to now treating babies as commodities and props for men’s fetishes.

Mothers have become redundant- hidden away yet again & discarded by a State who sees women as nothing more than units of production.

Thankfully the continuing controversy surrounding Jacob Englesman’s proposed appearance at a breast-feeding conference is carried in today’s @irishdailymail

“The HSE defended the planned presentation at the event, adding that such lectures are in line with ‘equality legislation & inclusion strategies.’”

“A growing number of babies are born with diverse family structures in Ireland each year,” a spokeswoman for the HSE - who referenced Mr Englesman’s planned lecture- said last night.”

“HSE services are also seeing an increased demand for lactation support during surrogacy, after breast surgery, and assisted reproduction.”

“Mr Englesman’s website details that he is certified with the International Board Certified Lactation Consultants.”

“On his website, he states he ‘helps families of all kinds with their lactation needs’ and specialises in ‘helping non-gestational parents who want to induce lactation as well as queer, trans, & non-binary parents who have given birth.”

“Mr Englesman wrote that the reason men want to lactate include the desire to feed the baby, but also ‘curiosity, fun, or sexual gratification.’”

In 1988 Dolly Parton pulled every 7th and 8th grader in Sevier County into a room and told them to pick a buddy.

She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid.

The county dropout rate went from 35% to 6%.

She handed out the checks herself.

In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college.

When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months.

You've probably heard that part.

Here's the part you haven't:

The fund raised more than expected, so she showed up in May and handed every one of those families another $5,000 on top.

Then she quietly put $3 million into the recovery group that handles the years after the news trucks leave.

She built her county an entire hospital.

She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it.

In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees.

Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal.

In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release.

And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it.

She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped us anyway.

She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did.
