Dimpho was in the garden this morning, and spotted these cats leisurely strolling past camp. They have gone to lie down in the tamboti thicket next to the dam in front of camp!

Our afternoon picnic was interrupted by a herd of elephants. When we spotted them moving towards the pan, we quickly got everyone onto the game viewer & then enjoyed a brilliant sighting of them mudding themselves & having a drink!

An adult lioness and a sub adult had been separated from the pride! They were keeping their eyes & ears open for any sign from the other pride members when we located them in the early evening. https://t.co/SAc5uyXS75

This was a breathtaking sighting - a sub adult lioness approached the game viewer, stopped to look at us, and then ambled off.

The Torchwood pride of lions were located yesterday having a drink in the afternoon. They all appeared very full bellied, so must have just finished off a kill.

Today is World Lion Day, a day set to raise awarenss of these beautiful felines, and their dramatic decline in numbers. It is estimated that there are only 20 000 lions remaining in the wild, which is a drastic decline over the past decades.
