Historical narratives and Cold War politics still shape regional debates today. 📘 THE USSR AND THE EMERGENCE OF THE “ARMENIAN GENOCIDE” CLAIMS ✍️ Maxime GAUIN 🔗 https://t.co/uEMvV3Gf2t #Türkiye#History
Pleased to share a report prepared under my guidance on “Demographic Crisis, Minority Integration and Strategic Demography: The Case of Turks in Bulgaria.” (https://t.co/XyphulwrGn) Written by Boğaziçi M.A. candidate Emre Erçin, it explores how Bulgaria’s demographic decline intersects with minority integration, representation, and strategic policy debates.
I hope this work will also grow into a broader project, as we did with @BernaSarica_1 on the elderly. Turkish culture can offer constructive perspectives on the world’s demographic challenges.
My colleague Dr. @MaximeGauin highlights an important point: history is not only shaped or “disrupted” by the West, and major narrative shifts do not come solely from the West. I am sure more work will follow from this research.
Glad to share our new article in Avrasya Dünyası co‑authored with Berna Sarıca on how Ata Kültürü and Aksakal traditions can support a regional norm on elderly rights in the Turkic world. I look forward to further debate on this topic.. Another step in our project.
@EylonALevy In the "radical Islamist Turkey", women have equality rights in heritage, they can walk without anything on the head and you can buy alcohol as freely as in a EU country. Respect yourself and stop lying so stupidly.
Does endurance shape political struggle and scholarly resilience today?

How does endurance influence both political action and academic resilience? The experience and legacy of #RaufDenktaş provide a framework for examining this question in contemporary contexts.

Can regional security frameworks function without legal regimes? The Montreux Convention still defines limits, access, and predictability in the Black Sea. ⚖️ #TreatyLaw
@Ertugrul_Tulun Legal frameworks like Montreux anchor predictability in contested regions. ⚖️ Without such regimes, how would escalation risks in the Black Sea be managed?
Can Black Sea security function outside treaty frameworks? Montreux continues to define limits, ensuring predictability in a sensitive maritime space. ⚖️
#MaritimeLaw
@AVIMorgtr Some argue flexibility improves security, yet history suggests rules prevent escalation. 🧭 Would be valuable to hear @UST_ICH on how legal regimes sustain maritime balance.
Empirical evidence suggests treaty regimes reduce escalation risks in constrained maritime zones. Does #Montreux remain a model for stability? 📊 #SecurityStudies
I would want to make a question‑driven repost and say: can regional #security arrangements remain sustainable without adherence to established #legal regimes? The #MontreuxConvention continues to shape the limits and possibilities of Black Sea security, but the best was said by Deputy #ForeignMinister Mehmet Kemal Bozay when he said: “#Montreux is an arrangement for which we owe a great debt of gratitude to our past diplomats and to our state.”
#BlackSea security debates return to a core question: can stability be maintained outside treaty frameworks? #Montreux still defines the rules of the game. ⚖️
