@Sophie_Mokoena For who though? Seems like they assume their tech is irreplaceable forgetting china has become an alternative on that score, also the investment is based on what the industry needs to be viable to the US, they may just create a blunder opening markets for competition
@MzwaneleManyi@ParliamentofRSA I have, maybe your strapline in the tweet needs an edit. To highlight MKP submission and how the rest of parly too it. Then apportion blame. CYA always
@MzwaneleManyi@City_Ekurhuleni Casting aspersions, as usual mislinking issues to doop people into simple characterization on an issue. Procedurally the positions mentioned would have been covered, the issue is how the procedure was manipulated.
@joseph_kalimbwe Offering refuge to them is as much help as was provided on the basis of that need, including any other need requiring assistance at the time. Liberation of africa was not a one nation endeavour, that said relations have not soured its the misdirected.https://t.co/w2lhzrzoFF
@mrlungisa@Umalumewabantu You lie unprovoked, you need to first give Sans produced, ideated, and owned brands/products before you make that statement, otherwise everything is still multinational

🔴U.S. CONGRESS INTRODUCES BILL TO SANCTION SOUTH AFRICA’S POLITICAL LEADERS — GLOBAL CONSEQUENCES AHEAD🔴
Washington, D.C. | 17 June 2025 — In a landmark move that signals the start of global accountability for South Africa’s ruling elite, the United States House of Representatives has introduced House Resolution 4051 (H.R. 4051), titled: “To address hostile and antisemitic conduct by the Republic of South Africa.”
This bill, tabled by Rep. Greg Steube (Republican – Florida), proposes the suspension of all direct U.S. aid to South Africa and the imposition of targeted financial and diplomatic sanctions against political leaders found complicit in:
Anti-American and anti-Israel rhetoric and actions,
Abusing international legal forums to attack Israel,
Supporting terrorist organisations such as Hamas and Hezbollah,
Building strategic military and economic ties with the Iranian regime.
🔴 WHY THIS IS NOT JUST ANOTHER BILL
This is no symbolic gesture. H.R. 4051 aims to codify into law the terms of Executive Order 14204 (2025) issued earlier this year by U.S. President Donald Trump, which called for immediate review and action against hostile conduct by South Africa’s government. If passed, this bill would give Congress permanent enforcement power to:
Cut all U.S. development aid to the ANC-led government, and
Freeze the assets and block travel of high-ranking political figures who promote or enable anti-Semitic and anti-Western actions.
This is not hypothetical. It has started.
🔴 WHY THE BILL WAS INTRODUCED
The ANC government has, over the past year, embarked on a dangerous and highly visible path that aligns South Africa with some of the world’s most notorious regimes and terrorist networks, including:
1. Support for Hamas after the October 7 Massacre: Just ten days after the attack on Israeli civilians, SA’s Foreign Minister expressed official support for Hamas during a phone call with their representatives.
2. Hamas Delegation Welcomed in Johannesburg: In December 2024, a senior Hamas team attended the 5th Global Convention of Solidarity with Palestine, hosted in South Africa.
3. Formal ANC Meetings with Hamas Leaders: Government leaders hosted Hamas officials for strategic talks — not humanitarian dialogue, but party-to-party ideological alignment.
4. Support for Iran – a U.S.-designated state sponsor of terrorism:
In 2023, South Africa and Iran signed a formal agreement to construct five oil refineries in SA — in direct violation of global sanctions.
In 2025, SA diplomats signed Iran’s condolence book for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei under a portrait of the Supreme Leader. This was not diplomacy — it was loyalty on display.
5. Weaponising International Law (“Lawfare”):
South Africa filed a genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
At the same time, they ignored atrocities committed by Hamas, Iran, and Hezbollah, and openly obstructed any attempt to condemn those regimes.
🔴 WHAT DOES “LAWFARE” MEAN?
Lawfare is the manipulation of international law to serve political ends. In this case, South Africa abused international legal mechanisms to target a democratic state (Israel) while protecting actual terrorist regimes.
This is what prompted the U.S. to act: using courts as weapons while supporting those who fire rockets at civilians.
🔴 WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES IF THIS BILL PASSES?
1. Immediate suspension of all direct U.S. government assistance to the South African state.
2. Sanctions against individual leaders, including:
Asset freezes,
Bank account restrictions,
Travel bans,
Visa revocations.
3. Secondary sanctions: Banks, companies and individuals who do business with sanctioned South African leaders could themselves face U.S. legal and financial penalties.
4. International fallout: Allies such as the U.K., Canada, and Australia could follow suit.
@matumba_anthony So she was less known as an MEC of health, when the tender was signed? No one had beef if they knew about the tender or is it a recent discovery due to her pouncing around the province that her missteps are being looked into?
@jsteenhuisen Hey John, honourably say we ain't going nowhere far from the cheese, national interest is a card with no funds as compared to being in the executive. Page par2 - 3 is better described by the attached media
