The standard reply to concerns of Kenyans is to promise them goodies in every county. It's so insulting. That's the problem with the argument "if it's dangerous for Americans why is it not dangerous for us". The logical conclusion is that since Americans are getting a quarantine center in Laikipia, Kenyans will get their own in every county. It's identity politics as a response to the health apartheid charge. It's so insulting.
We don't want racial equality in access to quarantine centers, Madame @psmuthoni. They won't even be equally equipped, anyway. We simply don't want ebola brought here. Period. No matter who it's done for.
I have seen the Kenya Kwanza regime doing a lot of public education on the Finance Bill, maybe thinking they are preventing another June 2024 moment.
What they do not understand is that June 2024 may not repeat itself as a Finance Bill protest, but it opened the door for anything. Kenyans can wake up tomorrow and protest over taxes, corruption, unemployment, police brutality, arrogance, school fees, fuel prices, electricity bills, or even because they do not like how the President smiles when people are suffering.
That is how uncalculating this regime is. They think the problem was one document called the Finance Bill, yet the real problem is anger, mistrust and the feeling that citizens are being ruled by people who do not listen.
You can explain the Finance Bill from morning to evening, but you cannot public educate people out of hunger, joblessness and betrayal.
Future Kenya will be built by young men and women who choose service over self-interest and action over apathy. That was my message at Multimedia University today, where I was a keynote speaker at their Youth Leadership Conference.
I reminded the students that the destiny of Kenya is in their hands. How they will exercise their right to vote and who they choose to lead will shape the future of our country.
I urged them to register as voters, participate actively in the 2027 elections, and offer themselves for leadership through the @UGMParty #Ukombozi
An energy minister in a tropical country pontificating to consumers about seasons in temperate lands. What about when they start using air-conditioning in summer? @OpiyoWandayi plumbing new intellectual depths daily
This is linked to the school system. I'll explain how.
So, if this young entrepreneur is harassed like this for starting a business, it means that the only hope for Kenyans not being harassed is to be employed in a white collar job.
To get such a job, you need school certificates.
The jobs are scarce, so you need to excel in exams.
To excel in exams, you need to cram the whole day and sleep for a few hours on empty stomachs.
Meanwhile the Micro and medium size Enterprise has a whole institution sitting for meetings and doing tours (presumably with per diems).

0.1, 0.2, 0.4 km/l etc difference in fuel consumption for trucks that do more than 1000km is critical
For example, 2000km in a month:
2000km ÷ 1.8km/l = 1,111.11 litres
2000km ÷ 2.1km/l = 952.38 litres
2000km ÷ 2.4km/l = 833.33 litres
