Jack Atkinson (@jackatkinson_10)(@abovebbacademy) is an unsuspecting killer in the half court. A guy who doesn’t need the ball much to be effective and takes advantage of his touches. Atkinson found his looks off good ball movement and backdoor cuts. He finished with 17p (15 in the second half) along with 3 bombs from beyond the arc.

2028 6’2 SG Jack Atkinson (@jackatkinson_10) (Above Academy Blue)- @PVSharkBBall
Atkinson is a lead guard who plays with great pace and is unselfish when it comes to getting his teammates involved on the offensive end. In the half court, he continued to apply pressure on the defense with his ability to blow by opposing guards and finish effectively around the rim on both ends of the floor. On defense, his energy and activity was contagious and continued to feed off his teammates. #OTRFloridaPreLiveWarmup
2028 6’1” guard Jack Atkinson played a crucial role in Blue Heat 2028’s hard-fought 53-50 victory over We R One. Atkinson showcased a multifaceted offensive skill set, knocking down shots both off the catch and off the dribble, demonstrating a reliable and confident shooting stroke under pressure. He also showed the ability to create scoring opportunities by attacking the rim in sequences within the offensive set, using quickness, change of direction, and strong footwork to score around the basket. He hit a big three late in the game to put his team on top, coming through in a key moment.
His off-ball movement was equally impactful; Atkinson moved intelligently without the ball, reading defensive rotations and exploiting gaps to create open looks not only for himself but also for teammates. This awareness helped sustain offensive flow and kept the defense unsettled throughout the game. Atkinson’s composure and decision-making in clutch stretches ensured Blue Heat maintained momentum when it mattered most.
Defensively, Atkinson plays with discipline and awareness. He positions himself well within team concepts and uses active hands to disrupt ball handlers and come up with key possessions. His ability to read plays and make timely defensive reads added value on that end of the floor and helped Blue Heat close out a tightly contested win.
Overall, Atkinson’s ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor stood out. His blend of scoring touch, feel for the game, and defensive effort made a clear difference in a close contest. Performances like this can continue to elevate his name in Florida’s 2028 class and make him a player to keep an eye on moving forward.
