@PentonyConor @VelocastJohn I think there's mitigating factors - faster pure sprinters absent or gone home, more sprinters are able to climb well like all rounders now. Cav hasn't done anything absurd this year, he could quite easily be getting beaten by Ewan had he not crashed.

@r_d_alexander That's a good point and in a normal tour it'd be a tactical master stroke. But yesterday Pogacar put 3+ minutes into everyone just by riding off. It'll be different in the wind, but this is a very odd Tour de France; almost nothing like modern cycling.

I think the only way to beat Pogacar is crazy long distance attacks, Landis style. Is it worth the risk of failing and losing a heap of time and GC position? The Ineos train today just made it easier for him to attack if anything, a bizarre tactic.
