TE GUNNAR HELM
· With his 38th reception in 2025, Gunnar Helm surpassed Bo Scaife (37 in 2005) for the most receptions in franchise history among rookie tight ends.
Shout out to Al Harris.
Bears DB coach & defensive passing game coordinator deserves kudos. With the Bears missing Jaylon - a Top 5 CB1, Kyler - a Top 3 Nickel, and CB3 Terell Smith lost for the season, he has the remaining players in the secondary & coverage playing well the last two games despite little pass rush pressure on QBs.
Byard was sensational yesterday. And in the last two games after struggling immensely to start the season, Tyrique is playing as well as he did at the end of his rookie season. We haven’t seen this Tyrique since before the Fail Mary. And the Bears need him.
The rest of the unit held strong to make Geno’s day hell & keep the Bears in the game. Six INTs in last two games is noteworthy.
Let’s hope he gets Kyler back post-bye and they can consistently perform at this high level as the season goes on.
Here is a crazy Combine story: #Texas TE Gunnar Helm twisted his ankle on his false start on the 40-yard dash, then finished all the drills anyway. Said nothing until it was over. Had an MRI on Saturday to reveal a sprain. And will run again at his Pro Day. The pics are… yikes.
Dolphins undrafted rookie TE Hayden Rucci gets the fans on hand for training camp practice going with “Jump Around,” a tradition at his alma mater, Wisconsin.
