@_Nullifidian_@ExileGrimm You’re not going to like every book that doesn’t mean it is bad. Everyone has their own tastes. Also I don’t have a problem with the change in language because it connects to today’s readers better. Just like the dated language in older books was the vernacular of the time.
@_Nullifidian_@ExileGrimm You’re still missing the point dawg. It sounds like your problem is with capitalism not new books. There just happens to be a thousand books a day advertised and it’s much harder to wade through. Yes more publishers are willing to publish shit because they are losing money
@_Nullifidian_@ExileGrimm lmao what are you yapping about?? You’re talking about a basic principle of all art. I love that classic works connect us to the past, but if you can’t share an experience with other readers with a modern book than that’s your fault.
I’m sorry you don’t read books you enjoy :(
@_Nullifidian_@ExileGrimm How so? Literature isn’t a technical science, it’s an art, and without context, art is just something pretty. A classic book feels like it could happen to anyone, but a modern work feels like it could happen to me. I like some classics. It’s just none of them are my favorite
If the reasoning here is “person doing good things with unfair amounts of power=cops” then I don’t think you understand cops very well 😭 now if we’re talking about military propaganda that’s way more reasonable
Trying so hard to understand this take🤧 like are all authority figures cops to you?? do you think ACAB is about all forms of policing?? How many comic book stories are EXPLICITLY about how bad cops suck??
all i’ve taken from this thread is that TTG is like family guy where its only really watchable via clips instead of having to actually sit through an episode
