Revenge dressed up as righteousness is when someone wants payback for real or perceived wrongs, but they wrap it in moral language so it sounds noble.
Instead of saying “I want to punish you because your ancestors hurt mine,” they say “I want justice, equity, and reparations.” Same poison, different bottle. The motive is still retaliation, but they call it righteousness so they can feel morally superior while doing it.
