The current prediction is on 1 April the price cap will rise 51%. For someone on typical bills that's £1,277 to £1.925 - up £650/yr.

Most homes are now on the price cap (as there's nowt cheaper) & more will move to it as their fixes end.

It will mean tough choices for many.
