I used to be very patriotic. It was that patriotism and love for my country that led me to join the RCMP and take an oath to serve and protect this great nation. Again, I used to be patriotic, until:

•I was treated as a second-class citizen who couldn’t enter a restaurant, watch my son’s soccer game, or fly to see my family across the country— and all this cheered on and demanded by a large portion of Canadians.

•Our Charter of Rights and Freedoms became meaningless.

•I saw my former co-workers beating and trampling peaceful protesters with horses during the trucker convoy.

•It became clear there would be no accountability or safeguards to ensure what happened during COVID never happens again.

•The justice system became politicized and weaponized against those who ideologically opposed the current government.

•The government’s out-of-control spending drove inflation so high that most people can’t even afford to live.

•Our healthcare system became one of the worst out of 30 developed nations.

•The mainstream media started spewing lies day after day, covering for Trudeau no matter how many scandals or how much proof of corruption came out.

•The government allowed so much immigration that my kids’ dream of home ownership turned into a pipe dream.

•The justice system became so broken that I feel unsafe even in my own home.

•The government taxed us so heavily that we now give more to them than we get to keep—essentially making us slaves to taxes.

•Our education system turned into indoctrination schools intent on destroying the moral fabric of society.

All of these reasons, and more, has chipped away at the patriotism I used to have. I don’t know if I’ll ever get it back, but I can assure you: it’s only going to get worse under this current government.
