Just finished this acrylic painting of award-winning Canadian saxophonist Alison Young, who I greatly admire as a musician. Followed her for years with the Heillig Manoeuvre and she recorded her soulful improvisations on my 'Miami In Mind' instrumental CD.
Cosima and I are happy to announce our upcoming concerts at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection - Gallery 8 - on July 16. See details on this flyer. We hope that you will be able to bring your children and join us. Have a great weekend everyone!
Music has always been an incredibly potent power in my life. It was the early music and songs of Bruce Cockburn that nourished my soul in times when I needed it the most. Here's my tribute to this iconic Canadian artist titled simply 'Bruce'.
July 16 Cosima and I will be performing our children’s/family concerts at 12:30 & 2:30 pm at the McMichael Gallery in Kleinburg. Hope to see you there!
Reminiscing back to my childhood, I painted this piece today. My first Atlantic crossing. It’s the ‘Queen Elisabeth II Ocean Liner’ that left the port of Le Havre in France and landed in Quebec City six days later. It was May of 1951.
Introducing another item in my wearable art collection. It's the 'YK Kimono' featuring my abstract painting 'Suspension'.

@itsmebaileygee 2 family concerts July 16 at McMichael Gallery in Kleinburg at 12:30 & 2:30 PM. Unfortunately there is nothing planned for Toronto. Things have slowed down quite a bit over the last years. I do have a number of YouTube videos of various performances.
I've been inspired to paint this motif I discovered recently, 'Dama Manchada', two charming performers playing tango tunes with the evocative sounding bandoneon accompanied by electric guitar. Giclée prints of this are available on my Etsy shop.
Here's a work 'Djembe' that will be in the group art show SOUNDSCAPES at The Back Alley Gallery - 341 Herkimer (back alley) in Hamilton. Opening May 5, 7 - 10 PM. Hope to see some of you there.
