My first book, NO OFFENSE: A MEMOIR IN ESSAYS, will be published with ELJ Editions (@EmergeJournal) in 2025! It blends personal essay and cultural critique to explore the impact of microaggressions against queer and trans folks and I can’t wait to share it with the world!
In an Ep313 clip, @jackiedwrites discusses transformative & chill-inducing writers, like Melissa Febos, Kiese Laymon, and Zoë Bossiere.

Yesterday I was crying watching my dog sleep cause I love him so much. My wife is giving birth to a literal human being tomorrow. Wtf?? How will I live???
Very excited to have an essay published in The Queer Love Project! It’s about found family, the hypocrisy of Christianity, and…the beach? If you aren’t subscribed to the QLP substack, you’re missing out! https://t.co/EV37pOkuG0
For quite some time, it’s been a writing goal of mine to have a piece in River Teeth’s Beautiful Things. Proud to have made it in with this little essay about my mom, who’s still my best friend. https://t.co/1GAklTuU1l
I’ve got an author questionnaire in the wonderful Memoir Land today! If you’re a CNF writer and you’re not subscribed, you should be. https://t.co/QnM4HCdPF9
Really not grasping the bad reviews and complaints about lack of plot for the new season of The Bear. When the acting is this good and the characters are this endearing, I will watch 900 hours of character development and dialogue and never get bored.
"I am lucky in that the people in my life understand that writing is how I process things and that sometimes, my experience of a moment might be different than theirs, but it’s okay for me to write from my perspective."

When @jackiedwrites “came out” right as the Trump era was revving up, she began paying closer attention to the inappropriate questions, uncomfortable reactions, and pointed assumptions about sexuality and gender she witnessed and experienced firsthand.

I’ll be at WorldPride(!!) in DC this weekend talking all things books, gender, and queerness with Jean Grae and Miriam Zoila Pérez! Come hang out https://t.co/j60q9Ce3Th
I bumped into a sweet neighbor, a Palestinian American guy I have come to have a chatting-on-the block relationship with, and he told me about an elderly aunt in Gaza and I asked if there was a fund for her I could donate to and he looked at me and said: there's nothing to buy.
Since next year’s AWP panel proposals are due soon, just putting it out there that I’d love to be on one about memoir in essays, queer & trans CNF, hermit crab essays, experimental CNF, small press authors, etc. Hit me up!
