This is the reason why the price of oil is up. Nobody disputes that. This is the reason the price of diesel is up. This is the reason why the price of just about everything is up.

Meanwhile, you got the defense secretary who's squarely focused on important matters: the jawlines and testosterone levels of our troops. 

These are not serious people. And the problem is you end up having to pay the price for their lack of seriousness.

First Lady Melania Trump is claiming credit for a ceasefire in Russian-occupied Oleshky, southern Ukraine.
But the Vatican says it was Pope Leo XIV who phoned Putin on Oct. 16, while still in hospital after lung cancer surgery, and asked for a truce to get food and aid in. The Kremlin confirmed the call. Secretary of State Cardinal Parolin says the initiative was the pope's.
As @thedailybeast notes, it's reminiscent of 2016, when Melania said she wrote her RNC speech "with as little help as possible," only for whole passages to turn out to mirror Michelle Obama's 2008 convention speech.

Trump turns to Melania and asks whether she wants to get more involved as he publicly praises her work on ceasefire efforts in Ukraine.

"Now she got a ceasefire," the president tells reporters, saying the agreement concerns children and elderly people.

The first lady says a ceasefire is scheduled to begin October 27 and welcomes the Pope's support while expressing hope that everything proceeds as planned.
