i'm not going to link any of them here, for a variety of reasons, but please be aware of what is probably the deadliest AI scam i've ever heard of:
plant and fungi foraging guide books. the authors are invented, their credentials are invented, and their species IDs will kill you
Florida is just straight up not allowing trans adults to get care. They still don't have an informed consent form, 80% of all providers are now banned, and there are crickets.
People are having their meds dropped as we speak. Adults going through medical detransition.
Cops in Mobile, Alabama took $300,000 from someone during a traffic stop where they looking for drugs.
They found NO drugs and did not make ANY arrests. But, naturally, they kept the money.
Civil. Forfeiture. Is. Legalized. Theft.

Transition doesn't "start" with surgery. It also doesn't even start with hormone therapy (a thing used by cisgender people far more often than Trans people, btw). It starts basically with someone just saying "sure, you can wear what you want" or "okay, I'll call you that name."
When you've been told for DECADES, that an English major or liberal arts degree is worthless and everyone should "learn to code," yeah, we're gonna end up with a society that thinks what writers do is easy and shouldn't be valued and AI is the solution. It's all connected!
If someone is wearing a mask in a doctors office, there is seriously no reason to remind them masks are no longer necessary. Trust me, everyone knows. Those still wearing masks *want to* be wearing them.
Wow. Republicans just called for the voting age to be raised to 21 & said Gen Z "requires emergency correction." Don't be fooled: they are doing this because they are absolutely terrified of Gen Z's political power. But we will never let them win.
So: Right before Ron DeSantis runs for president, the Florida Legislature is:
1) Changing the law so he doesn’t have to resign as governor
2) Hiding his travel records from public disclosure
3) Giving him $1 million to retain key staffers w/raises “and other incidentals”
This is what I want to see when I turn up to a facility. Not hiding in the med room. Not smoking in the parking lot. Not waiting 5-10 minutes to print a med list. I understand that staffing is short, but if you called for an ambulance I expect the bare minimum information we need
Wondering if I died in a car accident today. The last call of my shift, my partner and I respond to a nursing home for a fall from bed. The nurse has paperwork ready, follow us to the patient's room, explains what she knows, and answers our questions about his baseline status. 1/
We do our assessment, get vitals, transfer to the cot, and get moving. She had even called the hospital and given report in advance. Quickest scene time I've had at a nursing home, facilitated by a competent RN in an unlikely place. This is what I expect from SNF/rehabs. 2/
