Sometimes when I tell people about having go bags, they say if the apocalypse happens they just want to die. But I’m thinking more about stuff like this, where you need to move fast and just get out of the area. Have stuff for your pets ready, too

.@DanielLurie is probably the most popular mayor in America. Not hard to see why.
He's delivering results on the issues San Franciscans care about and elected him to solve: making the city safer, the streets cleaner, and the govt more accountable.
People feel the difference ⬇️
Across every major policy issue, San Franciscans have grown MORE supportive Mayor Lurie's work over the last year.
Through difficult budgets, zoning reform, and a close call with DC, he has stayed laser focused on public safety, the drug crisis, and our economic recovery.
Across the ideological spectrum, San Franciscans are feeling the difference.
Net positive approval across the board, and so many people think quality of life is good! Because SF is awesome!
So what's next?
We’re doubling down on driving our economic recovery and cleaning up the broken system -- so govt doesn’t only work for insiders and special interests.
Under Mayor Lurie, SF is coming back stronger than ever. And we’re going to stay relentless.
Axelrod: There are a lot of people who would like you to run for president in 2028. And there are others who would like you to run for the senate.
AOC: In this op-ed that Bezos paid for in The Washington Post, there was a veiled threat—it was the elite saying if you want this job, you just stepped out of line. What’s funny about that is they assume my ambition is positional. They assume my ambition is a title or a seat. My ambition is way bigger than that. My ambition is to change this country. Presidents come and go, elected officials come and go, single payer healthcare is forever.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, an important time to talk about something we don't address enough in the public safety field — the toll this work takes on the people who do it.
This is a field where you're always on. Ready to respond at any hour, carrying the weight of other people's worst days. That's real, and it's important to be honest about it.
Just last month during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we recognized Dispatch Supervisor of the Year Zoila Lechuga, who founded a Wellness Committee that has put in an immense amount of work into creating meaningful resources for their fellow dispatchers.
That's how we can all show up as our best selves — recognizing that taking care of ourselves and each other isn't separate from the job. It's what makes us ready for anything. So this Mental Health Awareness Month, take a moment for yourself. You've earned it.

Leftists hate Lee Kuan Yew because he showed in one generation that good governance is a technical and operational endeavor, not a moral performance or an exercise in redistributive grievance.
The stats here are kind of remarkable. BART's new fare gates have led to a 1,000-hour decline in clean up time; 41% drop in crime; and $10 million increase in projected revenue. https://t.co/bQMIcgUPal
Help your community prepare for the upcoming storm by clearing out storm drains and checking in with friends and family who may need assistance during extreme weather. Check your supplies and make sure you have what you need on hand: https://t.co/1sFQftMFNF

The earthquake that struck at 5:12 a.m. on April 18, 1906 changed San Francisco forever — starting fires that burned much of the city to the ground and causing the greatest loss of life from a natural disaster in California history. 🧵
Before 1906, fire was San Francisco's greatest urban threat. The city's wooden construction and rapid growth meant a single spark could level entire blocks.
